Very disappointed in our trade period unless we pull off a huge last day. Can't say I am confident. Would have to say that us and Sydney are vying for the title of worst clubs during the trade period. What's makes it even poorer is that we pretty much have the strongest hand of draft picks of any club and failed to make it stronger by moving out a player or two with currency that is not critical to our structure or moving up the draft order to gain access to once in a generation local talent. Instead the club sits back paralysed with indecision and watches other clubs make moves we can't. Just seems to be a lack of planning at the afc. The only player that left was one that was critical to our structure, although he did need to be exited in this instance. I find it hard to believe that out of 800 players in the land Tyson Stengle was the only one we could attract. Nothing against the lad but seriously. I hope they nail the draft as they will need too. The afc needs to learn that the trade period is where the club gets better quickly instead of leaving it up to chance.
As Shaz mentioned, the only disappointment is the lack of a ruckman.

We dont have to improve our draft hand today, it can wait..... and even if we dont do it weve still got a great selection.

Everyone in footy circles is excited by this supposedly mega trade - however the only thing occurring is one player leaving and one coming to each club - no-one is actually getting stronger from the trade.

And can someone why Port is even involved, if GCS want Hombsch they can give Port pick 20something and still keep pick 5. Just bizarre why that is thrown in at the end.

I think McGovern is a significant loss, but no doubt we've covered Lever.
I think losing McGovern combined with Cameron the previous year will exacerbate the slowness of our forward lines. Something needs to be done to fix this or we will struggle again in 2019.

Gee Trade Radio .....Lloyd just puts "Dumb" arguments forward

So Geelong are under pressure to release Kelly ....because he's already agreed to terms with West Coast for 5 years at $3M .....how can he face up to Geelong

FFS give it a break .....if he simply has to get back to Western Aust for family reasons, why rebuff Freo's offer, and who could get a deal done .......no mr Kelly, your reasons are flaky & if the deal doesn't happen, it's because you were hell bent on one club ($$$$$$$$$) over Family Interests .....I'm sick of all this !!!!!

Hence why weve got Stengle and in particularly McAdam. Whilst Stengle isnt super quick he will add to the pressure.

McAdam will play R1

Nah, the speed issue has well & truly been fixed ......great recruiting so far this Trade Period

To be fair to Tim, I wouldn't go to Freo either..... total basketcase.

And McAdam will run thru the midfield as Charlie did as well

But do you need to get your family back to WA or not ? .....blocking Freo, simply waters down his reasons for leaving Geelong

I guess it would be like going back to Queensland and choosing Brisbane or the Suns, ain't no way I'm going to the Suns right now.

Freo are imploding and I wouldn't want anywhere near them until the coach goes.

Charlie used to start off half back and go forward which of course you can’t do anymore.

Naa. Disappointed we didn’t get a new number 1 ruckman in. But easier said than done. I thought we let go McGovern too cheaply, but ultimately I was happy to over pay Sydney for pick 13. We weren’t going to use 40 so we put it to good use.

Other than that, 8, 13, 16 and 21 is the best draft hand we’ve ever had. We’ve got the best recruiter in the business. Just got to keep our heads from here on in.
Maybe the guy we have our eyes on, is not with an AFL club currently ....so we can't trade for him, but will have to Draft him or Rookie

Eventually, not next year though as hes got some work to do
I think we'll see short stints though ....similar to Danger in his first couple of years ....and also Eddie type stints, and he doesn't have the best engine either

That's an outside perception though, propagated by the Vic Media ......if you listened to the Vic Media, no-one would want to join the Crows at the moment

Caught part of crowcast they were saying something about us right into a current ruckman for next year that has a year left on his contract.

I would have thought that unlocking value in draft picks to move up the order would be maximised by getting on the end of trade deals. I can’t see how swapping purely swapping picks will not cost us a fortune. I have faith in Hamish and the team but I really thought we might be more aggressive in moving up.

We don’t have anywhere near the perception of Freo, suns and Carlton.

Collingwood maybe the only ones who get stronger cause as usual they will have to give up sfa for beams
