If they win the title again, does he take 2020 off and prepare for the draft?
no chance. He will want to go for another one. He is too competitive to take the year off.

There is a higher chance of him staying for his senior season than taking his junior off to prevent injury.

He can be 41-0 after his Junior year
Only needs 9 to break Kellen Moores record (it's 49-3 not 50-3)
Wouldn't be shocked if he goes for it.
Afterall, hed be renumerated quite well in the south ;)

I wonder if Brent Venebles will ever take a head coaching gig.
Was the Oklahoma DC from 1999-2011 and been the Clemson DC ever since. 2nd highest paid Assistant in the country (behind LSU's DC)

Though, hes already on more than half the head coaches in the country.

i dont think he even takes calls for interviews at open jobs. He seems happy to stay where he is and get paid more to do less than a HC job.

Really enjoyed that game after going back to bed in the first snooze fest.

My 2 bobs:
- clear targeting: helmet to helmet is serious business in CFB. Just poor tackling technique if anything.
- fumble: in slow mo, I agree with the consensus. In real speed and my initial thoughts, it was a incomplete catch.
- what’s been missed in this game and will heavily influence the final is that both of Clemsons freak WR are both clearly injured. They are both as good as anybody in the country.
- I would say the turning point in the game was the roughing the kicker call. Sooo huge (and unnecessary).

oh and if there was any debate about expanding the playoffs, today was clear exhibit A as to why it shouldn’t. Especially when you consider nobody gives a shit about the Rose Bowl which is meant to be the biggest bowl of them all.

Agree with most of this.

Epic game, didn't disappoint. Always felt that the 16-0 lead should have been at least 24-0 and those points would have been handy during the Clemson rally. That's the main reason why Ohio State lost.

On Expansion - I think that the biggest issue with the blowouts is that giving teams almost a month off to prepare is a massive advantage. Breaking teams down on tape, getting key players fresh. If it was on the tail end of the regular season you'd see much closer/upsets.

As good as Dobbins was at running the ball, he really needs to learn how to catch out of the backfield.
Cost OSU 2 TDs.

The difference between the top 3 and the rest is and always has been extreme.

Commentators made the point today that it was Oklahoma's first game in Georgia
They've now played in 31 states (plus DC)

I wonder which college has played in the most states

I just compiled Oklahoma's total w/t/l record from their first ever game to now

States where they're unbeaten - Alabama, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee, Washington and West Virginia

States where they're yet to win - Washington DC*, Georgia, Oregon

*0-1-1

Other stats theyve played in - Iowa, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Hawaii, Louisiana, New York, Colorado, Pennslyvannia, Texas, Florida, Arkansas, California, Nebraska, Illinois, Arizona, Indiana

What I found interesting is they have a better record in Iowa (39-1-3. .919) than in Oklahoma (554-29-123 .805)

Any sort of Burrow vs Young debate at pick #1 has probably resolved itself after today, even taking into account the lack resistance Oklahoma put up. Burrow was extremely impressive regardless, still made some very nice throws. Young is only one man and can be taken care of.

Clemson should provide a greater test for him, but barring a championship game implosion, he'd surely be a lock now, especially with the Bengals on the clock.

There is going to be another tankfest for pick 1 in 2021 for Lawrence.

Depends on who takes a QB this year though.

Who's likely to not take a QB this year, but still be shit enough to tank to #1 next year? Skins? Chargers? Lions?

Hoping the Panthers are personally. 😉
