What FWD/RUCK spot though?

WE will have Walker at CHF and Fogarty at FF, surrounded by Lynch and Frampton? That's a TALL Forward line.. I don't see it.

Yeh its certainly not simple, but we are going to have a lot more agility/chasing/tackling with anyone instead of JJ and stengle/mcadam instead of Betts.

Fog/Frampton/Stengle so much more forward pressure than Jenkins/Himmelberg/Betts

The other thing is we are likely to see a change in structure and see different roles with a new coach.

Dont'get me wrong, with the deal done now - it looks like it's basically Jacobs out, Frampton in - so costs us nothing in reality. I just would be surprised if he played more than a few games in 2020.

Typical BF blinkers where only the here and now matter.

Reid consults with Ogilvie on all the pick swaps involved during trades. None are done without Hamish's approval.
You're missing the point. The issue isn't whether they're this draft or next so much, it's the pick/s we're getting for him.

Most expect something around a 20 for Greenwood compared to a future 3rd and 4th that was floated.

I get what you’re saying, but unless something changes Frampton is a walking 2 match suspension. Fogarty needs to pull his head in a bit too.

It’s a very fine line the current player has to tread.
Strategic fit. When Big Bad Billy is suspended for one week for a jumper punch it will line up beautifully with The Fog’s return from a one week suspension from a coat hanger.

we aren't getting 20 for Greenwood...unless we are dealing with GWS and our list manager is Graham Wright

Why not a future 2nd for Greenwood? GC will already have 1, 11 and 19... surely they can give us 20.... its just 20 in next years draft... where we need points for F/S NGA

Supposedly we have 3 next year 2 known and one unknown

The big concern I have Greenwood and Keath is how the list management decisions were made here. With these two it is that these two clearly wanted to stay, but in Jarryd Lyons style we offered up lesser contracts effectively to encourage them to leave. One goal would be create space on the list, but the other would no doubt have been to obtain some draft currency.

The trouble is these decisions were made effectively by a football department that no longer exists. These decisions would have been made 2-3 months+ ago, yet the ones heavily involved in making the decisions have either resigned or just been sacked.

Now it looks like we're a fair chance of losing both for SFA, when the entering coach may have had other ideals.

Unfortunately the consequence of a board who have been in denial and couldn't get their act together, when the writing was on the wall clear for all to see, months ago.

I mean, Reid doesn't change who is the list manager.

That said, I think we've already backed ourselves into the refresh corner with not making finals this year, which means, we do probably need to shed both of them.

The occasional suspension isn't a bad thing.

Encourage them to be aggressive, and if they have the occasional week off for being reckless, so be it.

GC 3rd and 4th would be equivalent to a F/S or NGA in the low 20's.
There will be clubs screaming for points next year so an opportunity to climb the ladder for Thilthorpe or trade our 1st and 2nd is valuable.
So what's a second round pick worth. That will get you better talent and more points.

Stockpiling all these future picks is fine, given that we're probably getting 2 players under F/S and NGA rules next year. However, it does absolutely nothing for replacing all our lost players this year.

So far the story is...
OUT: Douglas (delist), Otten (delist), Betts (traded), Jacobs (traded), Greenwood (traded), ** CEY (FA)
IN: Frampton
** CEY was on the rookie list

That's 5x senior players out, and only 1 senior player in. We're still waiting on Knight and Keath.

To replace them, we currently have the following 2019 draft picks: #4, #23, #28, and #49, plus picks in the 100+ range.

So far we're OK - 5 out, 1 in, 4x "decent" picks. However, we're now treading a very fine line.
