Stockpiling all these future picks is fine, given that we're probably getting 2 players under F/S and NGA rules next year. However, it does absolutely nothing for replacing all our lost players this year.

So far the story is...
OUT: Douglas (delist), Otten (delist), Betts (traded), Jacobs (traded), Greenwood (traded), ** CEY (FA)
IN: Frampton
** CEY was on the rookie list

That's 5x senior players out, and only 1 senior player in. We're still waiting on Knight and Keath.

To replace them, we currently have the following 2019 draft picks: #4, #23, #28, and #49, plus picks in the 100+ range.

So far we're OK - 5 out, 1 in, 4x "decent" picks. However, we're now treading a very fine line.

If being used for F/S or NGA, once you factor in the discount you effectively match Pick 23.

I see what you're getting at, but surely you don't trade taking into account the discount you're going to get for NGA/FS. That's mad. Taking into account how far those picks are going to slide it's the equivalent of a Pick in the mid 30's, AT BEST. It's a disgraceful trade.

I can't say I'm overly happy with the trade, I was just thinking along the lines that another club might be willing to trade say Pick 25 for them, cause that would results in more points.

I don't see what the hype is about him, i tend to think that he and Todd Marshall have been massively overrated and have never actually done anything to warrant the type of hype that they get from Cornes and Dwayne Russell.

I disagree, his value was a standalone mid 20s pick or multiple 3rd rounders (if we wanted points)

He would have been worth a mid-20s if he was a regular member of our best 22, or had actually achieved something noteworthy to date. As it is, he is (was) one of the most overrated players on Adelaide's list. The Adelaide BF supporters overrate him, clearly Gold Coast did not.

The final price is bang on the money, and gives us the points we need for Borlase & Edwards next year.

I can't say that Reid has worked miracles, the way he did with the Lever, McGovern & Cameron trades in the past. Nor has he been ripped off severely, the way he was with Gibbs. So far this year he's come out with a par score for all trades to date.

We currently have 4 senior list vacancies, and 4 picks under 50 with which to fill them - pending Knight & Keath trades.

** Assuming we continue with the 38+6 list structure.

No, minimum senior list size is 38 - and we've been operating there for the last 2-3 years.

WTF is this obsession with swapping pick #4?

It's the equal highest pick the club has ever had, and half the board wants us to trade it away for no good reason? This makes no sense to me at all.
