The captain I can understand but not the opener. He's not contributing anything and they'd lose nothing playing Burns or anyone else for that matter. Broad has smashed his confidence and I think he's done personally. However, I read in an article on cricket.com.au that Ponting reckons there are three locks for the first test of the summer; Smith, Lab and Warner. He reckons he doesn't care if Warner scores another duck, he's in.
At just 32, Warner's career is far from over and a couple of big scores in Australia before the first test should see him a certainty to be picked.

You just keep digging don’t you. Buttler has played the majority of his career as a specialist batsmen, Wade until this series has always had the gloves. It is well known taking the gloves hurts your productivity as a batsmen. Buttler is not up to test standard 5 first class 100s from 100 tells you that.

Jos Buttler averages 31 as a keeper, 35 as non keeper. 16 v 20 matches

Matthew Wade averages 28 as keeper, 24 as non keeper...

However you look at it, Buttler >>>> Wade

We're going to be chasing s***loads, I'd like to see them put in a good effort at getting them, make the bugger come back tomorrow.
We sure are. I just hope we put up some sort of fight and make the poms actually work to get the 10 wickets.

I am all for him going back to SS cricket, scoring runs and earning his was back. Doesn't seem to be the way the selectors are looking at him though. He seems to be a lock in their eyes and I think that's wrong. He's not done anything since the ball tampering to be considered a lock IMO.

One century from 66 innings.... clearly not up to it but be my guest keep picking him.

I have never been a fan of Wade you know that you have been posting here since before the tour.

Buttler doesn’t have the game to be successful in red ball cricket

I don’t know, I get this gut feeling that our openers will put on a solid opening stand this time and actually give us a chance to pull off a miraculous win

67 runs through nine innings. Highest opening partnership of 13. Could say they’re due.

Is Harris allowed to open if he fields today?
