I'm struggling to come to grips with this too. But I'm trying to get my head around it, as it sounds like it's happening.
Is there a chance we think Day could play as a wingman? Or that we have something in the works to trade in another pick close to 11 with our future 1st maybe?

All right footers?

I’d also say Jaegs kicking is his biggest weak point.

Good Spot i Corrected the right footers;)

i agree although a lot of people are to harsh towards Jaegs he was beat up on the inside last year and was often double teamed and his kicking payed the price in close he should look better this year. I don't think any of Mitch,Worps,Jaegs,Shiels are excellent kicks but they kick to and know there limits, it would be very nice if we could add a touch of polish With Wingard to complement them.

Ala Lewis,Hodge,Silk they rarely missed targets in our golden era.

I was just about to post that I’ve heard there has been some concerns around his tank and ball winning as a mid.. I feel we may have gone a little bit colder on him of late, not sure if it is a cross yet but there’s a feeling he could slide a little.

Maybe drops from 10/11 to 15/16?
Got a touch up on here suggesting that he was a defender that pinch hit elsewhere, but what would people that have watched him since 15 years old know.

Will Day is not worth pick 11 and HBF's are not an area we need addressing. I wouldn't stress.

Let's wait and see. I'm confident we would take 1 of Robertson or Stephens if they are still available.

Funnily enough my NAB coach mate said pretty much the same thing.. He had the feeling that his tank won’t ever be a midfielders tank and he’s not a natural ball winner, with that said I really like him.

Is there some Ryan Burton about him? We hoped he’d become a big bodied mid but really looks like he’ll be a career running flanker.

I would be happy with Both, Stephens bio is mouth watering for us

Stephens-
Medium midfielder who is a prolific ball winner and creative user of the ball by both hand and foot. He played predominantly on the wing in the early matches of the 2019 NAB AFL Under-18 Championships before starring on the inside in the final match against the Allies, gathering 33 disposals in a best on ground performance. A penetrating left footer,

Robertson -
Medium midfielder who not only captained Western Australia to its first win in 10 years in the 2019 NAB AFL Under-18 Championships but won the Larke Medal as the best and fairest player in division one. He is a creative player, with his clean hands and vision.

Stephens is the perfect fit for us but i think he is going to end up at either the Crows or Dockers before we get a chance. Robertson is a little similar to what we have but will very likely be best available at our pick and i don't think you can have too many strong inside ball winners, his leadership credentials are very impressive as well. Really good kid.

Looks like day is fairly certain to happen with teams behind us in port and gold coast keen to pick him if we dont . Fingers crossed a hayden young slides and is someone we can't overlook.

I back the club in and going off his body type it's obvious he has a fair bit of development and has improved through out the year but surely he isn't best available at that pick . I went back and watched sa vs allies ever since we were linked to him and nothing stood out from his play , found the ball ok but a % of possessions were from sideways kicks in defence . He got slammed 3 times from his light frame he shook it off everytime which I liked but showed he won't be ready for 2/3 years .

Tomorrow will be interesting

best available with our first pick.....if that's an inside mid like Robertson so be it....we can always rest omeara worpel or Robertson in forward pocket and rotate them to get the mix right in the middle ....they can develop in that role and spend 20% of game time there .....I would like Dylan Stephens or young if they slide to us for first pick......Also if we trade in for a pick 20 odd Bianco or Cooper Stephens ,Will day or kemp is who id like

Why are people getting all antsy over Day when professionals who do this for a living (may)think he is the right choice? Sounds like when Collingwood got roasted over Pendlebury all those years ago. He is tall, quick, has great skills, could easily translate to a mid with a few Big Macs!

Day won’t happen

Why would we waste out first top 11 pick in 13 years on a HBF when we picked up a HBF who was a pick no7 or so end of last year for a future 4th round pick (Scrimshaw). The Only player we would do that on would be Hayden Young if he slides.
Pick 11 will be best available....wait and see who slides / is available.
Kemp would be odds on at this stage

All this talk of Day at 11.. given we're trying to trade back into the draft with our first pick next year.. Would it be possible we're looking to get him with that pick (~20)? Would he still be there?

Agree wont end up being your problem. Deal will end up being done with Geelong or Adelaide

Would love it to be Adelaide

Think with Robertson would he have the go home factor in a couple of years.
