Then draft Darcy Chirgwin with one of our later picks if you want a big arsed mid that thrives on the contested stuff like Fyfe and Cripps....I have no doubt he'd have gone higher if he had played the full year and not rushed back for the last Championship game before he was ready....had an excellent back half of the NAB League for the Sandy Dragons.

My original point was we traded out 2 bigger midfielders both below pick 60 and I hope we don't replace them with only sub 185cm guys because thats all we have.

I know we may have Edwards next year and i like Chirgwin but are we limited to just 2. Can you honestly say its would be good list management to have no-one to match Cripps, Bont etc

we r not taking mceasy pick 6 , he is not6 best player in this draft. Everyone get a grip cal phantom draft reals crap. Be either young Stephens Serong or Smokey Robertson ( Hamish likes this kind of player leader and tough nut. Wouldn’t be surprised and been in wa a bit )

Agree with this he had us Caldwell last year and was wrong. Am a fan of Robertson will be one of the only true midfielders available and fits in with the character profile Nicks likes

Mate I've seen Jay up close, believe me he's plenty big and tough enough to match it with the best the AFL can throw at him.

He doesn't play "small on the footy field or basketball court.

It's a great get for the AFL he's decided to pursue footy over basketball, he will just get better and better with his steely resolve to be the best he can be.

I still think the best and most damaging kick of all the elite kicks is Lachie Ash when degree of difficulty is factored in

Another half back ?? See there's positives and negatives to everything.

I still don't think we can miss.

Young has played midfield and has plenty of scope to be developed in that direction as a midfielder with elite disposal, i.e. exactly what we need to complement our current midfield.

The only negative would be dropping from pick 4 to pick 7 then picking up a tall defender.

That's what picks in the teens and 20s are for.

What's your take on Rantall's kicking? Have read some reports where it seems like that's the main knock and main reason that he isn't rated higher. Otherwise he seems to tick a lot of boxes and has a lot of upside given how late he came to AFL.

duursma over kelly? na duursma's kicking is a bit mediocre. lycett over frampton? lycett is a ruckman and frampton is more of a forward. who would burton replace in the crows backline? maybe hartigan but we could get young. boak? no way. butters vs atkins. thats a tough one.

CEY the last big bodied midfielder we took in the main draft at pick 64 in 2011 and your basing your case on him. FMD
So there's been no descent midfielders since 2012 that have skill and a bit of pace?

Size has everything to do with those mentioned just ask Sloane when he stood next to Cripps
Speed is a separate issue and we have failed here as well.

While someone could come of the back of the square at centre clearances and have a spare defender it masked our deficiencies.

You're the one who mentinoed CEY and Greenwood as big bodied mids we have lost and now we don't have anyone to play on opposition big mids

Made some bad errors by foot early in the season but has improved measurably as the year went on because Parto and the coaches made it their number 1 focus with his game....He is one kid you can be sure will work his ring off to improve all facets of his game not only his kicking. One only needed to look at his kicking and the goals he kicked when he got a bit of space and time, he's a goal kicking mid something we don't have currently.
