You clearly didn't hear JJ on SEN talking about his desire to fulfill his contract.

The spin is already starting from this jerk.
He said what he had to say - he has a contract and he intends to keep playing to uphold his end of the deal. Nothing in it. Of course if he gets traded he is also happy with that.

Nah his wording was bullshit.

He said he wouldnt go anywhere unless he was told.
Nobody gets told. The player has the final say as to whether he is traded when under contract.
He can simply not get traded if he wants to play SANFL and still earn his $$

Well it helps.
We had a better team in 2017 than Freo had when they made the grand final (and top 4 for 3 years in a row).

Simple answer. Ross is a much better coach than Pyke.

Does that mean I want him at AFC, not necessarily.

I would rather Freo's result in the 2013 GF than ours in 2017.

Going into time on, they were less than 3 goals down.

Losing in the manner we did, set up the disastrous preseason and 2018 season. We lost face and respect after our 2017 performance.

Most of our players never recovered from the humiliation.

I agree.

It is not a coincidence that Port fell off a cliff after the 2007 GF disaster.

Five years of crap followed for them until they returned to finals in 2013.

Don't underestimate the hurt from a GF defeat (particularly after the dominant year we had leading up to the game).

Shhh dont say that.
Everyone here thinks we just fluked a whole season of dominance.

Heard from a solid source that Jenkins to Geelong (who clearly don't have a salary cap) is a done deal. We will also be paying $250k of his salary to move him.
Not sure if we are getting anything back or just getting him out, but that's the deal.
Was talked about by Crows players over the weekend.
Be careful of the Player rumours, a few players are telling tales to see who can get the most hits on social media.

It wasn't dominance.
We lost 6 games and drew another.
You are conveniently forgetting performances in the North Melbourne game. The first half of the Collingwood game. The Melbourne game. Barely falling over the line against a woeful Carlton. The Grand Final.
(Facts, not opinions)

That's not a whole season of dominance. The warning signs were there, and they have only got worse. Proving that we simply weren't as good as some thought.

2017 seems like it was our 119 sadly

That means we get an accountants point of view. FMD

I think I'll start following curling

On SM-G920I using BigFooty.com mobile app

If you think they're purely accountants then you lack understanding of their business operations.
They do all sorts of reviews. Its a core part of their business.

Not comfortable with this. Worked in those industries before and they value the client relationship above all else (means long term $$$). They’ll present the data but ensure it aligns with Chapmans views/position.
Their very reputation is base on Honest reviews, they will be Open and Honest to the club. Whether the Club or the supporters like that info is another issue,
Also we need to understand the auditors are not responsible for what info is released to the public or in our case the supporters.

I'm conveniently remembering the 8 games we won by over 50 points.
Find me a team in recent history that has done that in one season.

The other team that did it was us in 2016 funnily enough.

I deal with these types of companies on a daily basis and historically they certainly havent pulled punches.
Presenting only what the client wants doesnt actually get you return business.
When they find holes in your business and actually do the job properly, thats when they get return business.

Ernst & Young did the review for Richmond, which resulted in their 2017 premiership. How is this any different?

The key will be how ruthless they are in their findings. Do they have the willingness to make recommendations which are unpalatable to the AFC management? If so, will the AFC implement those recommendations? Or (more likely), will they ignore the review and condemn the club to a decade of incompetence?

By far the most likely outcome.
Our management are deluded

Hawthorn 2015 - 12x 50+pt wins, including 1x final.

Nah .... aren't you a former Banker too?

(delete if you weren't)

Ah yes but one of those who actually had to communicate with customers/clients - was the greatest part was going to customers businesses and talking about them and their business and not about me.

It was never about me with my snout in the trough. I finally got to go into a corporate box, 13 days before I retired (after 39 years of service) - not all bankers are the same, just like not everyone in life is the same.

Jenkins interview came across as very stubborn. He realised and even spoke about how clubs are starting to take back a bit of power.

Every year theres a tonne of players breaking their contracts in trade period and now clubs are looking at doing the same.

They will do their review and have a process in place like they do on all companies, just adapt it to suit the industry and company and compare with the other clubs as that is the only comparison they can draw upon. They will compare with the Wsst Coast and Hawks and also GC and Melbourne and find a happy medium Im sure

The biggest item they will look at is historical results as you cant review a company unless you can see its results, not projections

What do you think they will find from results, with on and off field as they will do both
