The real problem will be if Goldy does like last time his contract was up and follow up a great year by dropping right off now he feels secure.

Really? People are still pushing this view? Wow.

Yes, he dropped off after his elite AA year. Surely everyone here is aware of the reasons for it. If not, here's a hint: it wasn't because he felt secure.

AND THATS WHY WERE 12TH !!!

Because we don't do what is right for the NMFC.

We do what right for the players.

Goldstein is a good example of this.
Yeah not sure that applies to all players, just a select few underperformers.
Before I get slammed, I don’t mean Goldy.

Sydney ruckman Darcy Cameron to seek trade to Collingwood

Darcy Cameron wants to play for Collingwood next season with the out-of-contract Sydney ruckman certain to request a trade to the Magpies.
The 204cm Swans tall, 24, is set to serve as back-up to dual All-Australian Brodie Grundy next year and will also add another dimension to the their attack. Cameron played just one AFL game for the Swans, but drew interest from multiple clubs when he became starved for opportunities this year.
Clubs including Carlton, GWS and North Melbourne showed interest but the Herald Sun can reveal he is bound for the Pies, who want to strike a trade next month.

In addition to Cameron's ruck strength, the West Australian will form a triple-threat in attack, alongside stay-at-home target Mason Cox and the versatile Brody Mihocek.

This year Cameron averaged 100 ranking points in 11 NEAFL games as well as 16.9 possessions, 9.9 contested possessions and 22 hit-outs.
But playing mostly as a pure ruckman he kicked only eight goals for the year, meaning it is unlikely he and Grundy would regularly play in the same side.Rivals yesterday suspected that the Magpies' hot interest in Cameron could help them prepare for Grundy’s possible departure in 12 months.
At the very least it gives them unrivalled ruck depth should Grundy be injured. The South Australian will headline next year’s free agency pool and will almost certainly field godfather offers from several clubs, including Adelaide and Port Adelaide.
But the Magpies were set to chase a ready-to-go ruckman regardless of Grundy’s contract status and remain supremely confident their dominant No. 4 will commit to a long-term deal.
Pies coach Nathan Buckley has confirmed the Pies will not offer Grundy the seven-year deal he requests given it would rob the club of flexibility in its list management.
Thanks giantroo. Other than the North site this is the only place I see main stream football journalism.

That article above is atrociously written. Statistics used as an after thought and in comparison to nought. The whole article makes no sense and is clumsy. What the f is this 'supremely confident' rubbish? Then to contradict. Surely there are young journalists that can do better than this lazy, inelegant, narrative-shy effort from professionally paid journalists (3 of them in the title)!

That started with the overhaul of the department heads. If we ain’t got the right managers, we not going to get the right players.
I think we should definately fit the right heads with the right players

What is it suddenly with this forum critiquing the grammar and format of articles and posts rather than the content.
Seriously guys you’re posting on a Big Footy, get a grip.
I actually reckon the article is well written, just don’t necessarily agree with the conclusions drawn.

Ziebell's role can look no further than mitch hann. He is someone u want one out in the goal square against a small defender or on the lead against a taller defender. Also ziebell is devastating around 50 arc. Larked is our key position power forward once he grows more physically. Brown is the mobile running big forward as u want him to run and jump in that order.

Cannington has more midfield use but only during general play. He us still a monster when there is a congestion but not at center bounce. Our center bounce 3 should be Anderson, Simpkin, ldu, thomas from 2020 onwards as we need to dutch Higgins to accelerate the evolution of the team.
So let me get this straight - Our centre bounce 3 should be Anderson, Simpkin, ldu, thomas (isn't that 4?). Who is our ruckman??

Who is Cannington? and Larked?

And 3 days ago you wanted Ziebell traded as another useless player (ala Cannington) but now he is devastating???

Outstanding.

Right right right, when there are people who doesn't agree with you, you get into the grammar nazi plus nit picky old hag mode. For one, this is big footy, get a grip, second i suggest you read the entire paragraph. For some reason the intelligence of people start to drop drastically when they see things they don't agree with and starts to focus on bits and pieces of the whole paragraph. Yes got to read the whole. Your year 8 level smart ass tactic aint going to work with adults, try to be some sometimes.

If you go past the grammar, which I’m sure even you WW can do, if not, get help, then some of what RR said is actually true. Cannington and his twin Cunnington have been pretty average as far as centre bounces go. Ziebs is actually better in the forward than the midfield and we do actually need at least 4 inside mids. Hopefully with shoulder repairs LDU becomes one.
So.. if you go past his illiteracy RR makes some valid comments.
