SEN SA’s Kym Dillon says that the management of Adelaide midfielder Hugh Greenwood is shopping him around for $750,000.

Dillon’s co-host and veteran journalist Michelangleo Rucci is hearing that the Gold Coast Suns have put an offer in front of the former basketball player that “he can’t refuse”.

“Greenwood wants to stay but wants four years,” Dillon told SEN SA’s Kymbo and the Rooch.

“He’s probably gone. They got him for nothing as a Category B rookie, same as Alex Keath.

“They’re happy to let him go at 27. They’d love him to stay but they’re not going to give him four years.

“I have categorically heard, categorically, it’s not too often I come out and say this is a fact, that his management are trying to shop him around for $750,000 on the basis of one good year.”

Well if you can't trust Kymbo and the Rooch, who can you trust?

Keep the pick. Do it another way.
Future first and our current second may work. Some may think it’s overkill, but he’ll be worth it. Use our current first on a speedy hb in the draft.

Trade 7 for a couple in the teens? Keep one, trade one?

Splitting picks is a decent idea but i reckon it’s better to keep the pick and go to the draft this year. Some very good mids and hbf in the top 10 range

Future first is the better option

The frustrated rapper in me has a brilliant rhyme to go with that, but sadly, I can't share it.

If we could get either Laird or Papley with our fist pick (7 or 8, whatever it ends up being), then for me it's Laird all the way. No contest, IMO.
Agreed that our backline is the biggest concern, although it works be nice to have a goal kicking small forward again.

Our first pick this year should be nowhere near the Papley deal. He's worth 20-30 imo. Maybe something involving Wood could work. Wood and our 2nd (currently 25) for Papley and a 4th or a future 3rd would be fair for both parties.

Could not be further from the truth!

Game time and pushing for a 3 year deal.

Whitfield will be worth a lot of coin and GWS won't have any capacity to match the offers he's likely to get. It's my hope it's Whitfield that is the reason we're so quiet this year.
Ahhh you dont seem to understand that it doesnt matter about salary cap any longer, they’ll give whitfield an ambassadorship which will top him upwards and beyond any offer he will receive. The only one that GWS didn’t intervene with was Shiel, but in all honesty Shiel is a big shiny turd anyway.. whitfield, Cameron, Greene, Kelly and Coniglio are UNTOUCHABLE

Just thinking, imagine we got Laird (if he's available) for our first and then Papley for, say, Wood and 25 (or Wood and 25 goes elsewhere for a pick in the teens and we trade that pick for Papley). We would address arguably our two biggest weaknesses in the one trade period.

I don't watch much of Adelaide - can someone please confirm Laird has played at his best post his knee reco?
Are you thinking of Brodie Smith? I type in 'Rory Laird knee' into Google and nothing comes up.
