With B Brown a guaranteed new face in the best 22 for 2021 hopefully a couple of the draftees are good enough to give us turnover in our game day team next year. We need it if we are to seriously contend for the 8. Pressure has to be put on a few of the guys already mentioned eg. ANB, AVB, Melk, Hunt otherwise it could be another wasted year.

We played four small forwards (ANB, Spargo, Kossie, Bedford) in R1 this year. They will definitely be priming one of if not both of Bowey and Laurie to play R1, 2021. Presumably they rate Bowey more highly taking him earlier but Laurie seems the more match ready physique wise. With only three months to go I’m not sure how much preseason conditioning they’ll get.

Also this is the second year of the row Richmond have screwed us over at the draft. They live-traded pick 20 to Geelong to draft Max Holmes who we apparently wanted ahed of Laurie. Last year they refused to live-trade us their second rounder for overs so we could take Deven Robertson. Worked out because we got Rivers in the end with the pick we've have had to give them. So omens suggest Laurie will be a gun like Rivers. I won't hear any arguments.
Would ne good if they had another behind the scenes video.

So Geelong stole both of our number 1 wing targets this off-season in Isaac Smith and Max Holmes.. campaigners

I think Laurie is a round 1 lock, he'll have a nice impact next year up forward. Bowey will be a good chance too and could even line up on the opposite wing to Langdon but likely starts as a small forward. Rosman will take a while to develop, but has a big ceiling. He looked a bit off it last year in the NAB league but tore up a pre season game for Sandringham this year looking set to explode, could be a unique key forward or wingman.

We certainly addressed needs. The foot skills on Laurie and Bowey are outstanding. And the sidestep on Laurie is amazing. Given their size they could take time but they both could play a role next year if all goes well.
Rosman is an interesting one. Will be given time but super athlete and clunked a few big marks.

I wonder who we have our eyes on for pre season or mid season selections. There were a few players left in the pool.
Might depend on fitness/any holes identified over preseason or early rounda. We have a fairly solid and healthy group atm so don't need to rush any selections. Probably worth seeing if Bowey/Laurie could jag a FP spot, if we're still munging every kick into the 50 before looking for a state leaguer or something to slot in.

Would be interested to know where the Footy Department see Rosman playing his footy. Sounds like he's viewed as a winger at this point but when he develops some strength, and particularly if he grows a bit more, he could be a very versatile tall defender or forward prospect as well.

The Noah Balta path. They’re the exact same height too.

Blicavs another example. Nice luxury to have a 195cm+ endurance runner on a wing but as they mature into stronger bodies they can become more valuable in key positions

If he has enough ability he'll be useful somewhere on the ground. We've obviously backed our development team in with some of the high-ish selections we've made the past few years (Jordon, Jackson, Pickett, Rosman) being really raw prospects. Fingers crossed I guess.

So we also nabbed Hawthorn's future 3rd for our future 4th and this yr's 3rd that we weren't using anyway.

That's actually quite decent. Evey pick counts next year for trading up.

Rosman is intriguing. Players like him could have really improved this year or plateaued. There’s plenty like that from the vic kids. Hopefully Taylor has this one right.
Yep. Seems like the kind of player who would have either rocketed into first round contention or been completely ruled out as a prospect.

It’s almost guaranteed that a few clubs will pick up stars in the SSP and MSD. So much talent will have fallen through the cracks this year. This is where recruiters make their name.
