ESS have been crying out for a big bodied mid since Watson retired .....recruiting Shield didn't address that need

It's an interesting thought ....build bookends first, or build midfield first ? .......I've always advocated the former, but RICH have opted for the midfield with one key forward and a swarm of smalls

I wouldn't be surprised if he went top 3, and I reckon it depends who we take.

If we reach a bit and take Riley, then McDonald goes to North, DGB goes to Sydney with their 2 Academy kids being mids, and Hawthorn take Phillips or Hollands.

If we take McDonald then I reckon Hollands gets to 5, Hawthorn will go Thilthorpe as their talls are trash.

I wouldn’t have kept Macca - would have been Gooch for me. Having said that I reckon you want at least 12 of your best 22 to be over 26. We are getting to the borderline of Melbourne and Carlton with the lack of quality experienced depth we have at the moment

People laughed at me when I said he has similar attributes to fyfe in his draft year.
I still think he is most like lynch from richm but I can see him possibly resemble fyfe in the future.
