I put it to you guys this way. Assume all these guys were from Mars, solely on watching them play, where does Thilthorpe rank in this draft?
Imo he isn't top5.
No he wouldn’t Be top 5. I think if you asked all 17 other clubs who they would take at 1 you would get a variety of JUH’s, Holland’s and McDonald’s. If we keep pick 1, Then I think it has to be one of those 3.

Doubt he would be there at 9, maybe 5-6..
I agree. I would be happy for us to take McDonald if we think he is going to be another Riewoldt, if not then we should be taking Hollands and trying to get up to 6 if Tillthorpe is still there. Just don’t take Tillthorpe at 1.

FAITH yeah if you think McDonald will be Fyfe you're probably on your own mate.

Apart from being west aussies I see know similarities.

I said there are similarities between fyfe and Logan in their draft years.
I'm not saying Logan will definitely become the next fyfe, but it is possible.
More likely lynch though.

.
Explain please - though I love Gene Wilder.

Has to be McDonald.

Pick 1. JUH (matched bid). Dogs
Pick 2. McDonald. Crows
Pick 3. Thilthorpe. Kangaroos
Pick 4. DGB. Swans
Pick 5. Phillips. Hawks
Pick 6. Hollands....

Picks 5 or 6 I think crows will try and trade up to get Hollands.
Why would Gold Coast trade down from pick 6 to pick 10 plus steak knives?

Their list is set. They don't need bulk intake. Just pick the eyes out of it, take the best they can get and let their list evolve.

It's not possible man. If McDonald turns into a multiple brownlow medallist I will give you my boat.

Hint: my boat is safe.

He's COMFORTABLY top 5

I hope we're not that pathetic.

That would be like Rendell taking Ebert over Dangerfield.

Difference this time is Hollands won't go home.
We haven't shown to be in recent times..... Any time really. We picked Milera and Fog because they deserved to be picked but aside from that, we haven't had a high SA pick since Sellar.

Top 5, he's ridiculously underrated on here. He was very much in top 3 calculations before he got hurt this year.

Not saying he won't go top 5, I'm saying he isn't in my top 5.

There's strong similarities in their draft years.
He's potential is mind boggling.
He's too good not to take at 1.

Probably not, hence why we need 5
He probably doesn't get past 2 tbh.

Clubs might take McDonald for needs but once he's gone you can't overlook Hollands on talent.

Have you ever known a player coming off an ACL to be so high in pick 1 calculations? There is a reason for that. If the imaging on his knee is sound he's a no brainer. Future brownlow candidate.

Anyone care to look back at our Draft picks over the last few years, and make a case that we should be optimistic about things?

Going by our record, we will stuff up our two top ten picks but do really well with our picks from the second round onwards.

Lever is still Hamish's best first round draftee.

I spent my morning examining McDonald's record this year. He does not have what I would call an exemplary record. He played a total of NINE wafl games, NINE games.

If Logan thinks he can coast through this month and go pick 1, then he is sorely mistaken.
I don't quite understand - the WAFL season was only 9 minor round games. What else could he do?
