I prefer not to get bent over by Essendon. Reef Mcinnis is a gun no doubt, but losing a Future First Rounder and 14 would hurt

but is he?
Nothing I have seen suggests to me that he is, there is always potential to be so but his kicking doesn’t seem overly impressive, just that he appears to be a good athlete.
not worth going all in on him if a bid comes for him inside top 10.

He’s been playing SANFL Dave. Still, he’s been out of the AFL system for 2 years, and was completely cooked when he finished at Collingwood, so it’s a pretty odd move on Ports part. Certainly not the master stroke Timmy is making it out to be.

Yeah cos I called it a masterstroke.....

Goldsack didn’t play SANFL by the way, as I said. Port pulled out this year so I’m pretty sure he missed out unless he lined up for somebody else. The previous year he was “in the AFL system “. Another fact you have got wrong... three out of three

Good luck to him if he gets another run. He might be handy depth with two senior multipositional talls retired. Which was my one and only point.

Think it be the Opposite to a Masterstroke

I am more Nervous about the Draft on Wednesday then I am for most Collingwood Games

No need to be nervous Dave. Be excited. We get to unveil some new Collingwood players in a few days. There’s nothing you, I or anyone else on here can do about it so just embrace it.

Trust me I have a Lot of Excitement as well alongside the Nerves.

Yep. We can't do anything about it but just wait and see what Happens and Hope we get Picks Right

Be doing a Lot of Welcome Threads to do Wednesday Night ;)

Intresting to read that Reef played as a KPD a Few times for the Chargers.

I would not rule out him playing as a 2nd Tall.

Next Year he could even play the Stephenson Postion

Couple of times I watched him play defence, he played as a lock down medium defender playing on the older dangerous forwards. He did quite well. Not sure about him playing key defence though.

Possible Trade in Trade Rumor Thread:

Crows & Pies will do a pick swap.
9 & 23 to Pies.
14 & 16 to Crows.
Some future picks between both clubs will be swapped to sweeten the deal.

How is it impractical in the case of Reef and Daicos - I’m not sure I understand?

List numbers. We have a minimum of 6 spots to fill in 2020 so exiting the draft after 3 picks is an impractical outcome because we’d then need to sign at least a couple of DFA’s. We’re in the midst of a list refresh so taking 1 pick into a draft is also impractical if it’s even allowed next year.

Possible Trade in Trade Rumor Thread:

That could make sense for the Crows. A couple of really good SA kids likely to fall in the teens. 9 is probably a bit high for Tom Powell but he’s a good chance to still be there at 14. Brayden Cook would suit them too but may not be there at 23.

If they get McDonald at 1 and add locals Powell and Cook at 14 & 16 that’s a pretty good haul.

I always thought our future first would come into play for us to improve our draft position this off season but maybe we won’t use it.

if it does fall this way, re trade of picks with crows, surely we wait until Essendon are done with their picks ( 6,7 and 8 )
be filthy if we traded up only to then having to use 9 on McInnes if Essendon bid on him with 8

Very True we might just stay where we are at and Happy for Downgrade our 2nd Pick IF Reef Get Bid before our 1st Pick

Makes it hard to get 4 high picks but gives us a shot at someone a bit higher rated. Who slips through the dons picks. Could be Reid or Cox?? Also makes our 2021 pick a pretty handy live pick swap. Don’t mind it.

Yeah I’d have the trade lined up ready to go and then wait to see what Essendon does. If they did in fact bid on Reef at 8 I’d consider passing & still do the deal with the Crows. Will be a nice slider there if Reef goes top 10. Cox/Reid/Perkins etc.

There is talk Thilthorpe could drift a bit later than expected, if we get 9 we could be in with a chance. You'd wonder if Adelaide would trade it if that's a possibility though.

Yeah they’d probably hold the pick if he was still there. Imagine them getting both McDonald and Thilthorpe. Wow.

I’ve been saying all along that he may not yet have finished growing. Still only 17, could still end up 194-195cm and genuine KPP height.

Hine will know what to do if a bid comes in. I wouldn’t be trading our future first next year, I’d be trading it for a seasoned A grader next year.

This is great for the Crows, not so great for us as we would be totally locked into taking only the one first round pick + Reef.

The more I think about this the more I feel like we should avoid any two-for-one trades to move up a few picks in the first round this year and just go for quantity (ie. two first round picks + Reef if we can manage it) and then target KPP's late in the draft.

This isn't like the 2012 draft where the depth wasn't really there outside of the top 10, so banking two picks in the late teens plus Reef this year would still likely leave us with three good prospects.

Whether we do something further with our future first is a bit more up in the air - if we could swing a trade that would get someone in like Reid or Cox that would obviously be a big plus, but if someone we'd be keen on isn't there then I'd be ok with us holding onto the pick and trading it out next year.

No way in hell, an ordinary player and a prick of a person.
I’m not aware if he’s been in any trouble with the law before. Correct me if he has though.

This was the same girl that caused his covid breach after scaling perimeter fencing to break into Joondalup Golf Resort when Sydney was staying there. Another way of looking at this, is this chick has caused him a lot of trouble and cost him his career. His first mistake was getting tangled up with her it would seem.

And Sydney have a lot to answer for after abandoning Taylor with no support network for a young indigenous man after he sat out the rest of the season due to the covid breach. Where was the duty of care.

Should he have beaten her like he did after he woke up to her punching him in his face. Absolutely not. He should have thrown her ass out of the room.

Should she have started punching him in the face after being creepy, sneaky, stalking his Snapchat and finding a picture of a girl on it when he was asleep? Absolutely not. She should have just left. Should she have been charged with assault? Absolutely she should have. Or are women exempt from the same laws that apply to men?

The court deemed his crime to be worthy of a $5000 fine and a spent conviction. Was his offence worse than what Dane Swan did? was given a second chance, much to his personal benefit as it was Collingwood’s.

Dean Rioli wrote an excellent open letter to the AFL about Willie Rioli. It’s worth reading. It spoke of second chances and it’s what made me think that Taylor deserves a second chance.

When Collingwood is at an all time low with serious racial accusations levelled at the club, it’s an opportunity to assist a young indigenous man who did a terrible thing albeit with a high degree of provocation.

But if not, let’s watch Richmond sweep in and scoop him up for SFA. And a year from now they will be praised for it. The article I posted shows they are already being praised as the club that looks past indigenous people’s flaws and transgressions, and reaches out to help them.

Why not Collingwood?

Too soon. IMO, the most important aspect of second chances is that people put the time in to improve themselves before they receive one...
