I’m not aware if he’s been in any trouble with the law before. Correct me if he has though.

This was the same girl that caused his covid breach after scaling perimeter fencing to break into Joondalup Golf Resort when Sydney was staying there. Another way of looking at this, is this chick has caused him a lot of trouble and cost him his career. His first mistake was getting tangled up with her it would seem.

And Sydney have a lot to answer for after abandoning Taylor with no support network for a young indigenous man after he sat out the rest of the season due to the covid breach. Where was the duty of care.

Should he have beaten her like he did after he woke up to her punching him in his face. Absolutely not. He should have thrown her ass out of the room.

Should she have started punching him in the face after being creepy, sneaky, stalking his Snapchat and finding a picture of a girl on it when he was asleep? Absolutely not. She should have just left. Should she have been charged with assault? Absolutely she should have. Or are women exempt from the same laws that apply to men?

The court deemed his crime to be worthy of a $5000 fine and a spent conviction. Was his offence worse than what Dane Swan did? was given a second chance, much to his personal benefit as it was Collingwood’s.

Dean Rioli wrote an excellent open letter to the AFL about Willie Rioli. It’s worth reading. It spoke of second chances and it’s what made me think that Taylor deserves a second chance.

When Collingwood is at an all time low with serious racial accusations levelled at the club, it’s an opportunity to assist a young indigenous man who did a terrible thing albeit with a high degree of provocation.

But if not, let’s watch Richmond sweep in and scoop him up for SFA. And a year from now they will be praised for it. The article I posted shows they are already being praised as the club that looks past indigenous people’s flaws and transgressions, and reaches out to help them.

Why not Collingwood?

Have to wonder why the Swans weren’t as supportive as they could have been. How much of that was due to what he’d delivered on-field? I can only assume they’d made the call to cut him after his COVID indiscretion. Doubt they’d do that if he was highly rated.

I don’t believe his ability or potential is questionable. This was his very first season. What a shitty year to debut. His bio prior to the draft reads well:
“An elusive medium forward who has an impressive natural leap, clean ball handling skills and a smart user of the ball from either foot around goals. He is a mercurial type of player and was dangerous up forward in Western Australia’s 2019 NAB AFL Under-18 Championships winning team, averaging 12.2 disposals and 1.5 goals to earn 2019 NAB AFL Under-18 All-Australian honours.”

Too soon. IMO, the most important aspect of second chances is that people put the time in to improve themselves before they receive one...
I know what you are saying. But I don’t necessarily think it needs to be in that order. A second chance means he has to prove himself every day from then on.

Possible Trade in Trade Rumor Thread:

Not sure how we'd pull off that trade if Essendon bid on Reef and we can't do two separate trades with Adelaide.

This is of course assuming we want Reef and for pick 9 to be a live selection (can't see the point of us doing the trade if it's not)

Perhaps the AFL would sign off on a double trade with Adelaide if we appeared to pay the going rate for Reef.

For instance if Essendon bid on Reef we first exchange pick 16 for Adelaide's pick 23. We then use pick 14 to cover most of the cost for Reef.

At Adelaide's selection we then trade our future 1st for pick 9.

We would then leave the draft with pick 9, Reef and pick 26 (adjusted for points deficit).

Didn't the AFL close that loophole when Sydney did something like that in the very first year of live trading?

I'm all for the 14 and 16 for 9 and 22 or whatever it is at the time of trade (we wait until Adelaide are on the clock, in case Essendon do bid on Reef).

But I would hope we could then trade 22 and a future first for something like 10 and 26 from GWS. Not sure whether they would though...

End up with 9, 10 (pre-pushback) and 26 to get Reef.

What about swapping 13 or 15 & 26 for our 21,1st & 2nd. Giving us 9. 13, 23 & 26 and let Ned (or his replacement) work to get the Daicos points (we would still have our 2nd & 3rd).

What I'm thinking is this

Trade Pick 14 and 16 for 9 and 23 (Adelaide)
Trade Future First Rounder for 13 and 20 (GWS)

Therefore we have
Pick 9, Pick 13, Pick 20, Pick 23
That would be a great outcome for us, on top of that we would still have a few later picks which there is a few good KPF's and KPD as well as a few really good, fast small forwards

Intresting to read that Reef played as a KPD a Few times for the Chargers.

I would not rule out him playing as a 2nd Tall.

Next Year he could even play the Stephenson Postion

Dave, I like to think there is no ''Stephenson position''.... just the ''Reef position'' that i hope will make us a better team overall... we have not won a flag for 10 years so i don't want anyone playing the ''Treloar role'' or the ''Phillips role'' etc. we were not good enough to win the flag with them there so we just need players to be better than they have been.

Thoughts on pies trading their future first to dees picks 18 & 19?? Guarantees 4!! There will be guns and sliders around the mark. I don’t know

You posted this on the draft board too. Melbourne trade their future first for those picks, they’re not going to trade them back out for a potentially worse future first.

What I'm thinking is this

Trade Pick 14 and 16 for 9 and 23 (Adelaide)
Trade Future First Rounder for 13 and 20 (GWS)

Therefore we have
Pick 9, Pick 13, Pick 20, Pick 23
I doubt GWS will be happy to trade two firsts for our future first.

Not sure Ade would jump at it either. I would assume they want to get their hands on your 2021 first. I think if you got 9, Bruhn or Henry would be great gets for your guys. Best of luck Wednesday
