I think a bid for Breaden Campbell comes in pretty early too, Lachie Neale with wheels and agility which might push a couple back.Hollands might last til 8.... Maybe
Oh dear, not another small midfielder!I think a bid for Breaden Campbell comes in pretty early too, Lachie Neale with wheels and agility which might push a couple back.
That will be tearing opposition clubs a new one in years to come....he's a gun.Oh dear, not another small midfielder!
and yet when we don't off these long term deals to meiocre or ageing players like Greenwood, CEY or Keath, people crack the s**tsOur management of the salary cap and long term deals to mediocre or ageing players is a far bigger issue than what we've received in return for departing players.
James Frawley ring any bells? It's all about needs and what you need to pay to get someone out of a club.Tell me again what makes Brad Crouch such an outstanding midfielder that another team will pony up sufficient $ and years to get us Band 1?
FFS, people on here have been wanting to drop him but expect other teams to be blind to his shortcomings that they'll cough up sufficient for Band 1. Get real folks, we've got pick 1 in the bag but next pick/s out in the mid/late teens by the time a handful of NGA players are matched.
But that's alright providing clubs keep those clubs with FS/Academy prospects honest by bidding at the appropriate levels (**), our pick will still be from the same bunch of available players (ie. no point looking at likely unavailable FS/Academy prospects).... but next pick/s out in the mid/late teens by the time a handful of NGA players are matched.
Phillips, Thilthorpe (B.Crouch compo) and Hollands is the dream.
I agree. This should be our realistic target.Finish last, get band 1 compo for Brad, then trade out a player (Laird?). Combine that pick with the GWS pick then those 3 players sound very gettable.
Reid might have gotten very lucky with the Gibbs trade as pick 21 actually allow us to trade with GWS for their 2nd rounder (pick 28) + Carlton's future 2nd rounder (pick 23)

Durdin would be our ideal 4th pick before Luke Edwards after the three I mentioned before. Early 20s might be realistic.Mutineer where do you see Durdin landing? The times I’ve seen him, his goal-sense and agility are first-class - strikes me as that clever small forward who could push into the mids on occasion ala Toby Greene/Devon Smith.
Dudley in 2021 will be good too.I'd like Durdin based on what I've seen. We need a player like him.
Where does he play in the AFL?Mutineer where do you see Durdin landing? The times I’ve seen him, his goal-sense and agility are first-class - strikes me as that clever small forward who could push into the mids on occasion ala Toby Greene/Devon Smith.
I think he will go slightly higher due to SANFL form.Where does he play in the AFL?
Can't see him ever legitimately playing midfield at AFL level personally....he'll be pigeon-holed as a small forward and even by small forward standards he lacks height which he somewhat combats with a good leap , he's not quick either which he combats with his elite footy smarts. Very hard to place players like him but if I had to have a guess I'd say late 2nd/3rd round.
Boyd Woodcock was another small forward who had a strong year and playing league in his draft year but went at pick 76 and yet to play a senior game for port.Where does he play in the AFL?

Maybe but I'll use Caleb Daniel as a comparison played 11 senior games at South Adelaide in his draft year, was the outstanding SA player at the Nationals, All Australian, and was far more naturally gifted athletically than Durdin yet he was the 6th player selected in the 3rd round of his draft year. All down to stature IMO.I think he will go slightly higher due to SANFL form.
Just read the pin profile on previous pageDurdin would be our ideal 4th pick before Luke Edwards after the three I mentioned before. Early 20s might be realistic.
Pick 1 Phillips
I liked what I've seen from Durdin, but we don't need another midget.
Apparently they didn't NEED to split the pick afterall. They just gave a future 2nd instead and their 2019 2nd for Bruce. It was that the dogs needed to split picks to get the players they wanted and had offered Keath a good long term deal - that we didn't apparently push for pick 13 for say Keath and our 2nd which was low 20's from memory looks like a big lost opportunity
