Kind of is. It's trying to bring an academy system in without actually removing the draft (seeing that'd massively compromise the competition, however, I personally don't care about that as we would massively benefit from such a move).

The move to allow players who were born overseas, even to Australia parents was kind of interesting though. Surely there should have been a stipulation that both parents needed to have emigrated to Australia. Still, I'm not complaining if that doesn't happen, as it potentially allows us to exploit it

It's why he's eligible.
If you have digital pass look at this lad. Really well developed for 18 YO and playing A Grade. I would put a bid in on him anyway. Is Borlase playing. I have not seen him in the Sturt team.

In the reserves.

Thilthorpe looming large in the last quarter

Doubt we'd be looking at another medium defender with excellent skills but average speed at this time....What pick would you suggest we should bid on him with? I'd hazard a guess he'd likely be around our current pick 20 maybe slightly earlier.

Personally, I'm hesitant on the really well developed 18 YO type just because it does indicate he's already pretty close to his ceiling. One of the easiest ways to develop a player is just to get them at the ideal weight, which allows for more consistent use of traits they've developed + more ball-winning ability. Naturally, every case is different though so there is potential there, but it's probably based on fitness.

Borlase is in the reserves playing as a full-back. We probably should be feeding that kid growth hormones as he's starting to look like a classic tweener.

That’s the exciting thing about Hamill. You feel like he’s got a lot of upside.

He's still got 10+ kg to gain, being at 186 cm/71 kg. I think ideally, you'd want that around 186 cm/82 kg for an outside player.

If he can gain it and keep the speed/agility, then really, he could be the gold standard for an outside midfielder. The player David Mackay should have become seeing they're equally as tough and brave.

Then pursue SA's Tom Sparrow with real vigour in the trade period if we want a young mid that's been in the system for 2 years and not getting a look in at the Demons.
From recall I didnt mind him - though he was behind quite a few in my thinking ie I was looking at Luko , Rankine Rozee etc . I have a Budget from the day with a checkmark against Sparrow ie someone to watch

We might have missed the boat. Hawthorn In a world of pain. Laird not gonna help them. Crows and Hawks are the two worst teams in the league. They will keep their first round. Laird needs to go to a good club like gws. Laird for Caldwell would be good.
Little bit emotional saying Hawks are the 2nd worst team...

Seen Melbourne, Sydney, Carlton, North and Freo lately?

Crows insta page for NGA listed him at 194cm. Well tall enough to be a FB.

Interesting comment. We have had players on our list for years and don't look like playing. This guy would be ready now. He will go in the 20's. What did Buddy look like at that age.

A
I tend to look back at keating from brisbane. He was a very handy ruck but what made him good was that from the first bounce he came out with socks down and mouthguard hanging out but he was as aggressive as hell and would put his fist through the ball and belt in 30m forward. Whoever is coaching obrien needs to get him aggressive at bounces and stoppages and to vary it up by wacking some forward. That way it is hard for the opposition to consistently set up. Around the ground obrien is great..just needs a real mongrel streak..get him watching keating go about it
Are you suggesting that a camp to improve mental toughness could be beneficial ..🤔
