YES!!!!!!!!

I mean... (clears throat)

It's only what I've been saying more or less for the entirety of the lead out of this season. Grab 3-5 picks (pending list reduction and delistings/retirements) between 10-30, and pick for needs and talent. Interview and scrutinize the sh*t out of the Vic kids you can; do your own independent fitness, psych evals, go for the type and the prospectus from within the club. Put real pressure on the rest of the list with this bunch of kids; give SPS, Dow, LOB, Philp,

Not too sure your allowed to do these tests , Otherwise all 18 clubs would be doing.

I'm pretty sure you could ask for special dispensation from the AFL, and if you couched it academic terms - as in, you approached La Trobe who is a sponsor and found someone doing a PHD in something or other - you could get it granted to do something like that.

It's also already borderline happening anyway, down Geelong way with the vast majority of the graduates from their footy factory.

where was the front and centre, hit and goal against the dogs?
thought that was Cunningham in the last game before Charlie Curnow getting injured post 7 goals against Footscray... That showed Cunningham can do it [ hit the front and centre at top pace & goal ]

Had to watch this to remind myself what we have in DC. That Collingwood game!

He’s seriously under-utilised along with Fisher and SPS, ffs give them greater midfield rotations add Williams and Dow they all give us the speed & spread difference...
Cripps Setterfield Walsh Williams Cunners SPS Fisher Curnow Dow Martin JSOS and the King...

I still don't understand why Teague moved him back to the forward pocket after he was BOG playing in the midfield against Essendon.

And I know I wasn't the only one who rated him BOG in that game. Clearly the umpires thought so too with 3 Brownlow votes.

I see small forwards as our biggest need, so I came up with a trade idea.

Port gives up pick 29 for Fantasia
Essendon then trade pick 29 to WC for Brander and Cameron (going to Carlton)
Carlton sends pick 8 to Essendon for Saad, Johnson (plus Cameron from WC)

100% be really interesting too know the reasons why? Centre clearances and stoppages look completely different when you have players who can evade spread and burst away with the ball, creates better team overlap and ball chains as well...

For me, Cripps and Setter or Kennedy should simply get the ball out to the likes of Cuningham or Fisher or Martin etc rather than trying to break tackles and run themselves, wear the tackle, dish the ball.

Which game was he moved to the forward pocket in? The one directly after (against StKilda) he had 75% of his 12 touches in the back half.

I think the perception of Teague moving him isn't quite accurate and perhaps the player should be held account to their performance more than it being a coaching issue. No coach with half a brain would move him after that BOG performance against the Bombers. I think DC is just inconsistent and will throw in a BOG game once in a while then have 3-4 stinkers. Hope he can find consistency next year.

Cant believe that SOS is still on the Radio saying the pick #8 straight up for Saad is about the right cost , He gets questioned about it with purple saying its too much and Sos saying its upto carlton to get the deal done. Thinking DoDo friendship might be the delusional factor here

I think he’s doing the Matthew Richardson gimmick where he is trying to appear non-biased to his former team but he does it too far

You wouldn't think the value between Jack Martin and Saad is too much different. Love to know why SOS only offered a 2nd round for Martin. Both uncontracted.

Supremely talented, and electric. No doubt about that
But hardly ever puts together a 4 quarter performance.
Becomes a 6th year player next year, and if he can't address consistency in his game he is in trouble

Exactly.
Saad value would be between #15-#20

I would love to know what he would value Jayden Short being 18 months younger

He also intimated that yes he would do this deal close to the end of trade period as possible, to ramp up the pressure.

His view that the difference between this and Martin is that he is not convinced Saad will get through to us at the PSD given that we might be salary cap limited.

I would prefer to bid for Saad using pick 8 in the National Draft than hand it over to EFC both have the same cost but the Draft doesn't help an opposition team.

Whilst he is correct there he avoids then the obvious alternative

Where would Saad be taken in the november draft with say $900k x 2 years . Im sure the blues can restructure the contract accordingly to accommodate that and i can assure you the will be there in the 20's

Richmond would jump at giving up 2020 + 2021 1st rounders for this years pick #8

wow - no doubt there will be clowns here who see this as less than fully positive - what a rap! here we go, indeed............

Agree. I would never expected him to say what he did. That is a huge rap for us and our previous list manager. :D
One little hole - small forward. Exactly what some here have been saying. Inside mids a plenty too btw. :p

Frankly I disagree.

Many players have 12+ year careers with only flashes.
