I'd like to think the Crows would be 100% on the phone to Caldwell, but know they aren't.

Im dreamland Caldwell will opt for Adelaide and come in Trade week because Gws refuse to entertain Essendon. And deals can get done.

Reality however is Caldwell gets to Essendon on Essendons below market picks because something is better than nothing. Or he walks to Essendon in the psd because Essendon offer a heavily front loaded contract like $1m and the Crows can't or wont match.

Strongly disagree. Other than the GF where he hurt his thumb badly in the 1st quarter, Parfitt was probably Geelong's best player in the finals.

He's the right age profile and the right skill set. I'd be offering him a big deal and doing everything I can to get him. It's a shame we are such a pathetic club.
If it was me, I'd be offering him a 5 year deal on $600k. In terms of trades, it would be the WB pick (if we got it) and nothing more. PSD threat ready and willing to be used. Geelong held us to the sword over Dangerfield. Time to return the favour.

Of course we won't even consider it because we think it is a love in and everyone should win.

Throw in Lynch and $300k of his salary. Will be handy for them on the bigger grounds come finals. Opens up the gut running half forward spot for Sloane with the bonus being he can roll through the stoppages if we're getting pantsed in there. That's what a proper rebuild would try and do.

I have only seen the headlines (haven’t been following the story), but wouldn’t Treloar move for a salary dump pick? With the relationship dead and still millions to pay, pies couldn’t possibly expect someone to take that on and part with a good pick?
