Although things may change over today and tomorrow I thought it was very interesting that CD stated that no players other than our three rucks have been asked about for possible trades, you'd think that the minor premiers may have a few players that oppo teams might try to target.

We know Dodo did at least.

I'd say that is because we really didn't dip into our depth last season, so there's not really any known good players outside best 22 they could steal.

If Aliir or Fantasia come in maybe questions get asked of players like Clurey and Woodcock.

I would happily pay our pick 29 if hately could be convinced to come here (not likely players don’t change their minds)

I can answer some of this.

Ideally Aliir gets put on the oppositions second key forward as Aliir can be found out a bit against the stronger guys. His real strength is also reading the play, zoning off his man and taking an intercept mark before immediately running with the ball and kicking it into the midfield. He can't zone as well on the number 1 key forward and it hurts his game.

I also strongly recommend not moving Aliir around. He is a confidence player and he gains confidence by being in the position best suited to him. If he drops his head thanks to being played somewhere he isn't as suited, and as a result not playing as well, then he doesn't look that good.

Keep Aliir in his ideal position and don't move him randomly around the field and you will be very pleased with what he produces, both with intercept marks and attacking plays out of defence.

We're pretty stacked for forward and ruck options so can't see him playing anywhere but the back line.

AA has to be the priority here. Opens up so much more possibility with our defensive strategies, and more likely to be the "missing piece of the puzzle" for us to go that next step, which I highly doubt OF is.

If we miss out on Fanta, so be it. I can live with that. I really squirm to think what happens to us if we miss out on AA.

I listened to a bit of trade radio for the first time this morning. They’ve been so outrageously pro-Essendon in their discussions that it’s hard to believe that it’s not essendons bigfooty page trade radio with bigfootys biggest one eyed dons fans.

they’re five minutes away from denying the drugs scandal ever happened and giving Jobe Watson an honorary Brownlow.

There’s an absolute stench in the air.

I really like him, always have. He plays with real flair and excitement, goes for his marks, takes on the game. He is the defender Monty would build if he was Dr Frankenstein.

De Stoop is an Essendon supporter. The way their supporters call in and talk to Goddard like he was the second coming of god is a little weird but I guess landing him is the only win they’ve had in a while.
