Lol seriously can we just have a ban on posting things ol clickbait Kornes says…

none of it is interesting and it’s all designed to just stir people up.

Hodgey wants a new rule! Hodgey gets a new rule.

No more clickbait shit from Cornes in here.

Also:
Can we also threadban Rendell quotes. The bloke is senile.

As of an hour ago, Jon Ralph (I know) said he hasn't completely ruled out the move

Apologies, it was McGowan not Ralph

" Breust is believed to be reluctant but hasn’t completed ruled it out, with the Giants’ pick 13 up for grabs. "

Now that is a haggle position

As of 15 min ago, Breust has said he isn't going. Probably if it was a Victorian club he may have.

AFL Media’s Riley Beveridge told Trade Radio the Giants offered pick 13 in exchange for Breust and pick 24.

This was “generally agreed upon” by the two clubs before Breust knocked back the move.

In case there was any doubt (there wasn't), this was just confirmed:

I had someone tell me that way back when at Breust's peak, and GWS had picks aplenty, they were offering us multiple 1st rounders for him. Big, big deals.

I don't get this. The players are asked to move when they come through the draft when their wages theoretically are at their lowest. Why can't they be asked to move when they're getting paid through the life of their contract. I'm pretty sure even minimum wage players can comfortably afford an average rental in every city in Australia. If necessary, give them a relocation payment that is payable by the club that takes them on. The contract is their security, the contract should be movable.
I've had to come back to this comment because as someone who has had experience of this situation, I can tell you with great confidence that it is so much easier to move cities when you are younger, as I did when I was 18 and again when I was 19, than it is when I was 32 (and at the peak of my trade and value) and again when I was 36.

You're wrong. And, seemingly, totally devoid of empathy.

Can I get a summary of the last 15 odd pages? darthmann ...

Here is my guess
* Finally we are going to trade breust!
* Pick 13 woweee.
* SYL prepared Kitten
* Breust is not going
* Some people - play him at box hill
* Others - what a loyal servant
* Most - when does ceglar officially leave?
* Journos suck (f*#k cornes and Barrett)
* Trade week is bollocks

Was I close?

How do we access these draft picks, with all of these mature players in their prime ensuring we don't bottom out?

Young core of our premierships from 2008: Hodge, Lewis, Roughhead, Cyril, Mitchell, Franklin, Birchall

Young core in 2021: Day, Scrimshaw, DGB, Worpel(even with him I'm unsure if we can be elite or just a good player who peaked).

Next two drafts have to take at least 3 top 10's to build midfield, so bottoming out, may not be such a bad thing to get these picks and games into youngsters.

I agree 100% the need to add at least 3-5 players to this young core now! Currently have three players throw in Worpel & Jiath you could say five being optimistic.

The next 2 years we know for certain we have two top 10s. We need to spilt our two 20picks in this year draft or nail the 5-6 picks we have in top 25 over the next 2 years.

Otherwise you are heavily relying on a player coming from (Kosi,Lewis,Jeka)
Finn,Downie,Mitchell,Bramble,Nuke)

Is trading Punky really worth moving from 24 to 13? I wouldn’t think so. Could argue you’re as likely to get as good a player at 24 as your are 13 if your recruitment team is good enough.

Luke Breust is a club champion.

He's also about to turn 31.

A move up into the teens would be worth it. Then you're getting a look at Sinn, Johnson, Sonsie, maybe even NWM/Amiss.

Bad deal, we need to hold onto pick 24 or push for a pick 2+5 swap - especially if we’re paying his salary
