Lol seriously can we just have a ban on posting things ol clickbait Kornes says…

none of it is interesting and it’s all designed to just stir people up.

Hodgey wants a new rule! Hodgey gets a new rule.

No more clickbait shit from Cornes in here.

Also:
Can we also threadban Rendell quotes. The bloke is senile.
Done ✔️

IMO Breust would be of more value to GWS than Wingard. Maybe they should have made their play for him first, rather than on the last day...

GWS have been trying to poach Breust for a very long time. Years.

Breust already had two years left on his contract and gws don’t have cap room (sounds like hawks may have paid some salary). Other then maybe a 3rd year what was the incentive to Breust as doesn’t sound like much of a financial incentive?

Chad made a bit more sense as only 1 year left and 2 years younger so could have offered more certainty than with us.

Wingard signed a 5-year deal at the end of 2018, so to the end of 2023?

All we really know is that GWS wanted Wingard or Bruest and neither wanted to move to Western Sydney and play for the Giants.

I don't think there has been any other realistic offers for our players outside of the above?

The lack of reported interest in Mitchell and O'Meara is a bit surprising and annoying to be honest. Dees would be laughing.
The rumor about Port considering JOM sounds to me like they sounded him out, and they turned him down, so they didn’t bother going to the hawks.

What if the deal was Breust (hawks pay the salary) + pick 21 for Pick 2?
Would that seem fair?
If that was deal, the Hawks would probably hassle Breust to do it worse than Carlton hassled Clarko!

Dawson deal done today. Not sure how it's the AFL's fault if clubs don't agree to trades.

I thought the Dawson deal was done last night?

Re fault of the AFL - my take is that A/ extending it to be this long makes the AFL look ridiculous; and B/ Not having the salary cap in place prior to the trade period makes them look exceptionally unprofessional.

The AFL don't allow trades to be processed after 5pm on Tuesday until 12pm on Wednesday........it's done to create a bit more drama

Last year they didn't allow them until 3pm

Agree on the salary cap thing, debacle. Putting that aside, it seems like the nature of a lot of clubs' salary caps has been a roadblock this year. Like clubs are either maxxed out or have heaps of room, but not in a position to really take advantage of it?
