Lol seriously can we just have a ban on posting things ol clickbait Kornes says…

none of it is interesting and it’s all designed to just stir people up.

Hodgey wants a new rule! Hodgey gets a new rule.

No more clickbait shit from Cornes in here.

Also:
Can we also threadban Rendell quotes. The bloke is senile.
Done ✔️

Ideas for upgrading the best 22 for 2022 cheaply:

1) Talia from the crows as a free agent. Should be an upgrade on hartigan unless completely cooked. Talia takes Fullback and Hartigan replaces hartley as the back up.

2) Silvagni from the blues if they can't reach a contractual agreement. He's a fairly good/solid mid-sized forward who can sort of do it everywhere.

3) Bailey Banfield from freo. Not entirely sure why he wasn't playing early this year but only played the last 6 or so games of 2021.

4) Charlie Constable from Geelong. Good player and just cannot get a game ahead of the likes of Higgins, Smithy and the older brigade.

5) Quinton Narkle. His spot is there at Geelong but it could be safer elsewhere. Starting as the sub every other week would surely be taking a toll on Narkle.

6) Robbie Tarrant from North UFA. A big upgrade on Hartigan at full back if you thought you could challenge.

7) Billings possibly underachieving at St Kilda. Has talent and would be ahead of Hanrahan one might think.
Billings and Narkle make sense.

Replacing Hartigan with an equally aged defender does not.

No Hawks interest in Cerra then. Lines up with earlier posts about Hawks not chasing big fish this off-season.
He was only really a midsize fish anyway, wasn’t he.

I actually think Teague has the makings of a half decent coach.

Be a wise decision from the Blues to give him another couple of years I reckon.
Nahh he won't the blues don't defend very well. Their defensive structures are shit. Any team that can not defend is going no where.

If Blues can't get the Cerra deal done for whatever reason (unlikley but hear me out) wonder if we can get involved with offering a senior player + later pick e.g. JOM + our 2nd.

Could work if Freo have that or letting him walk to the PSD.
I suggested this yesterday. Perfect scenario

They will move on a player/s for draft picks which have points value.

My understanding is they currently have 1768 points for Daicos bid, 3000 points will be required to match Daicos bid.
you said A-grader for points....that won't happen

"move on a player for picks with points value" - thank you captain obvious

3,000 points is value of pick 1, but matching a bid gets a discount, so they only need 2,400

I dont mind Brennan Cox from Freo- not sure on his contract position currently?

Paddy Dow is going to be on offer. Has shown little at Carlton, but this is the very thing that Carlton review is all about…their lack of player development.

Could he become a player in a different club?

I look at it the other way.

It's much easier to teach a team how to defend than it is to be an offensive threat (which the Blues already are).

It's a personal view of mine but I think too much emphasis is placed on defense in today's game.

You want to win a premiership you need to be able to kick 100 points on a regular basis.

I understand and there are many out there like you that want to see us play more attacking football. You have got that ass about though from personal experience teaching someone to defend is a lot harder because anyone can go out there and chase the ball around and attack. No team can dominate for 120 minutes No team. Which means that you need to be able to defend. In the end it comes down to how the game is played these days at the top level where you have one half of the ground being used. Melbourne have transformed their fortunes this year because they are able to adapt and defend. The bulldogs are perfect example of a team that defensively can be poor especially against the better teams. The truly great teams of the modern era have been built on great defensive structures, Geelong, Hawthorn and Richmond. If you want to have sustained success then you need to build from the backline. Which is why I am extremely excited by what we already have. We need a few more pieces around the ground but the foundation of our defense is set.

Depends on the price. Dow has underachieved but has developable traits and a change of system may be beneficial. But if Carlton start beating their chests for anything more than a late second rounder I say walk away.

Yeah, genuinely luck that Weitering and Jones have held it down so well in the key posts this year. Without them they'd be in strife.

They attend way more defensive 1:1s than they should have to.

We are NOT going to dump Hartigan one year into a 2 year deal, just because an equally old, but slightly better version is available.

It's not even worth thinking about, let alone type on the internet for others to read.

If we can’t get him a DFA walk away.

I'm going to say no because he's a worse user (and decision maker) by foot than our current midfield and it's something we need to rectify. Bringing in another will have us all tearing our hair out.

yes discount comes into it, they are still a little short. it will be a interesting period at collingwood

Clarko will be coaching Carlton next year 🤮
That’s what I’ve heard from a pretty reliable source.

Will they become a pretty unreliable source if they are wrong? Serious question.

They will get points via draft pick from off loading another A grader. Could it be Maynard? They are in a world of hurt for a few years yet..
Go Go Go Hard Hawkers!!

Get out man Cerra as he is every thing we need to complement and fix our midfield and F#ck Carlton off as well we will kill two birds at once.

Yehaaaaaaaaa 💪😁
