Depending which A330 model, that's between 550 and 600 seats going to Perth on Friday say at 6am, 2 trips to Perth that is 1100 to 1200, if they can sneak in a 3rd with the last one being a red eye type flight that's 1650 to 1800 seats. Hopefully they don't gouge to buggery.

Would be some very cheap flights to Adelaide from Perth over that weekend.

Booked some business class return flights from Perth to Adelaide for the Grand Final weekend with Virgin 'on spec' a couple of weeks ago at a very decent price, knowing they were fully refundable if we didn't make it. Surprise, surprise got a call today saying there had been a cabin change for the return flight home on Sunday and we had been booted out of business class. Obviously some AFL heavyweight has taken our seats.

No real issue as we still have seats and get the fare difference back but still surprised that this can happen after bookings have been made.

Barely any options for category 4 or 5, with slightly more seats in the 2 and 3 categories, and majority seats being category 1 by the looks of it.

$145 is pretty steep so hopefully that puts a few off and GA members get a good crack at it in priority two.

If anyone has a spare priority 1 barcode or two please let me know.

I'd never sat in the top tier of the Riverbank Stand for a footy match until last weekend

I was pleasantly surprised how good the view was for a Cat 5 seat

Different to the bottom level where I normally sit but enjoyable nonetheless

Don't be worried if your $ don't stretch to the 'better' categories

These prices aren't even what are displayed on Ticketek currently. Ticketek has all the categories way more expensive, and cat 4/5 different prices.
When I posted that the AFL site only had 1 table. The top price and bottom was the same as the table on the Bulldogs website so I assumed it was AO and Perth Stadium were just the same.

They have obviously dropped prices for the middle categories for Perth Stadium to attract more people but I dont know when they put up the 2nd table.

Yes, as far as I’m aware… I assumed this will be the same barcode that we will use to book GF tickets if we get in - but apparently not!

I thought the same re: GF barcodes. I thought it would be the same barcode as you've had all season, doesn't make sense to me why they'd issue new barcodes just to buy for the GF, but wait and see what comes from the club if we qualify I suppose.

Have never been to a winning prelim final since we joined the AFL (missed the 2004 and 2007 prelims due to work commitments). Unable to go this week so this might be a good omen.
I’ll rule yours out and say I’ve only been to a winning prelim and can’t go this weekend.

Although I’ve actually only managed to make it to one prelim ever. 07. So make of that what you will.

Just make sure you get the fare difference back that was relevant at the time of booking if it is more than now since they have gouged prices? It seems odd that they have bumped you from business due to a change in cabin size as logic would tell you they would have increased the size of the plane not reduced it. And also make sure you can still cancel given you are now in cattle class. Airlines are pigs at this time of year.

The flight may have swapped from a 737 to a (ex-tigerair) a320

RussellEbertHandball do we know the seating pattern yet? Logic says checker board however just dummy booked SANFL final tickets for 2 and it sat me in seats 1 and 2
Nope, but once you buy your ticket you will. Given SA health and SMA have done an empty row, then full row, they probably wont change.

The T's and C's are ****ed, they can basically do anything they want.

Yeah I’m pretty sure the ‘change in aircraft affecting cabin configuration’ excuse is a furphy.

Anyway if we do make the granny I’ll be very keen to see who is sitting in seat 2A on the flight home on Sunday afternoon. I’m somewhat prone to spilling my coffee when I’m getting onto aircraft;)

What was the capacity for the prelim last year? Crowd was 24,292 so I guess it was around 25/26k.

Watching the highlights people were on the hill but it's not the case this year so it should be more densely seated.

It was 27,000 approved by SA Health checkerboard set up. AFL covid protocols killed about 1,500 seats. Stupid ****in Ticketek shat itself and no electronic tickets came up for some of us. I reckon a whole lot of people didn't get scanned in as I was dumb enough to go and ask for a paper version, 25 minute line up and almost missed the start of the game, but I know someone who walked over when I finally was near the front of the queue and just showed he had made a purchase and was let in.

Make sure you also demand your lounge access and all other business privileges as well...

Ok I have had a look back at our 2017 to refresh my memory. See below. So yes it is your membership barcode and will come with your priority email. As I am an Adelaide Ova; Footy member my Crows Grand Final barcode was different to the card I use to games during the season. For Power members though it should be the same.

All eligible game-access Crows members who wish to attend the 2017 Grand Final must register via Ticketek either online or by phone on 1300 796 939.

To register for a Grand Final ticket, you will need your membership barcode number and any barcode number of members you wish to sit with. Eligible Members will only be able to purchase one ticket per eligible Membership. A limit of eight barcodes per transaction applies.

There will be two Priority Groups for registration on Wednesday, September 13.

Priority 1 Members
can register using their barcode/s from 8am-1pm (ACST) time. This group includes Gold Members, Captains Club Members and Legends Members who will receive a guarantee to purchase a ticket for the Grand Final, if the Crows are a participating Club, as part of their member benefits.

Priority 2 Members can register using their barcode/s from 2pm-9pm (ACST) time to go in the ballot for any remaining tickets. This group includes Silver Reserved Seat Members, Essential Crows Members, AFL Silver Members, Victorian Members, Interstate Members, Home General Admission Members and Bronze Members.

It does not matter what time you register within your allocated registration time, as this will have no bearing on either the category of tickets you are allocated or the likelihood of success in the ballot process. There is no need to be concerned if you are placed in a queue. It is strongly recommended that you register for the ballot online at ticketek.com.au.

If you are successfully allocated a ticket, your credit card will be charged without prior notification of the transaction if the Crows qualify for the Grand Final. Should your Grand Final registration be successful, all tickets are allocated randomly, and you are not able to select the ticket category you are given. You must ensure your nominated credit card has sufficient funds for the processing of the maximum ticket price per member you register.

All members should have received confirmation of their priority group and barcode via email – if you have not seen this, you can use the member barcode number provided on your member card or contact Crows Member Services on (08) 8440 6690 from 8am.

I asked and nope - I get the refund for the fare difference and all other business class benefits (lounge meals etc) are removed (except for the cancellation guarantee)

That's what you get for being a relative nobody I guess. In the end I'll just be happy if we make the granny and win - where I sit on the flight back won't matter a toss.

Do we know if its best to get in the queue now or refresh/load the page at 12 on the dot?

Purely anecdotal but I've always had success getting into the queue about 30 seconds before go time.
