If it was him or Aliir I would have kept Aliir. Always take the key position/unique talent. Hewett's pretty good but was never a gun imo. Always places in B&F so coaches love him and thats whay matters.
I also think that trading away AA means they are confident in Goulds chances of making it... still very early for Gould but they must think he can be a good KPD

It's all well and good to say Hewett should have been traded before AA, but there has to be a market.
Port have made it clear that Aliir filled a specific need for them and so they pursued him.
No team chased Hewett.
And as much as I like AA our need for a ruck was far greater.
Would we have been in the position we are now with Sinclair as our ruck?

Yet they're all still on the ground
High scoring games out the window. Back to normal programming in tight games. Where 10-12 goals can win you the game.
Looks like the coaches' answer to all this scoring is flood, flood, flood. No doubt that will be implemented by most teams come winter.

I think our hope is that Pyke's Adelaide team actually peaked towards the end of the 2017 H&A season. Even during the cold nights his teams still scored 100 easily. Even belted Port in the showdown. Could be a good sign to come.
