Talia is completely cooked and Day is a spud.
If you can find a way to bring in some like a Harrison Petty or Sam Taylor, then we are talking.
Yeah, I mentioned Day and Talia because they’re free. Petty would be ideal but how likely is it?
To me pick 16 and Hayes for Dawson seems fair, but that is just my opinion.
It’s fair, but after last night I really hope we keep Hayes. Lycett is looking past it and Ladhams is inconsistent with what he brings.

The only place Hayes should be traded is into our starting 22

Agree. He needs to be played. I still don't have faith in ladhams. I'd rather trade him out if we need to get rid of one.

Ask yourself a question. Which of Hayes and ladhams would be a better no. 1 ruckman over time. There's the answer on which one to keep. Id even prefer to keep ladhams as a full time forward now and get what we can for dixon. I don't hsve faith in him anymore.

are Rozee & Butters near ready?

Maybe another full preseason has them ready to play a full season of serious midfield minutes, but I don't think either is the answer to players like Petracca, Oliver, and Bontempelli, or even Cripps, Dangerfield, and Martin.

Shiel is a strong inside mid with speed; get him to tidy up his disposal

Players don't just magically tidy up their disposal at 29.

You guys are against trading out Hayes (fair enough), but as a Swan supporter we really want to see a player come back instead of losing yet another player in their prime. Are there any genuinely good players that you think could be gettable?

Teams don’t give away good players if they don’t need to.

trading a good player out to get a good player in is the last thing afl clubs do.

Your best bet is a fringe player like lienert, or a young improving player like Farrell (who I would hate to see go).

Id say Clurey would be gettable having lost his spot.
Not that id want to trade him out, leaving Pasini and Lienert our KPD options (Before bringing new players in)

Haven't you Port supporters been screaming for things to change?
How do you change things if you don't actually change anything?
Or is getting rid of Hinkley the only solution?

Billings might be a good fit for us… not sure
I’d be going for very hard at Jack lukosius, not that I think we would be a change of getting him.
Billings is rubbish, shit kick and soft as

luko is what we need when we have an elite midfield, not much use if our mids get smashed cause he won’t put his head over it

You being serious ?

Pittard, Polec, Howard, Wingard, S.Gray, Ryder & Impey.
Thats 1/3rd of the side that played in our 2017 Elimination Final moved onto other clubs.

Better than average chance Hartlett joins that list this year also.

Swans probably wouldn't be interested in Clurey due to his age. I'd take him for nothing but certainly not in a trade for Dawson. The Swans would only be interested in a young key defender, Marshall, Hayes or Ladhams.

Houston would be a reasonable option. He is slightly inferior to Dawson but had a down year and could look really strong as a Swan with a new structure and some time let the shoulder settle. Basically an instant replacement for Dawson.

But it's seems to me that it would be a tough ask to get anyone to move to Sydney unless you could offer big cash, which seems unlikely.

I dont know who but we need ground level players that can win a loose ball and kick the thing not up and down 30m in the air. Its why brisbane with cameron neale and zorko **** us everytime. Once the ball hit the deck in their forward 50 last night we were screwed by default

I haven't seen much of Houston play but he's listed as 184cm so he sounds like just another midfielder. Dawson is one of those rare breeds that can play just about anywhere and excel due to his size and skill. The Swans will be losing regardless of any trade deal that occurs but what they won't be doing is taking another midfielder.

In the big games our midfield is continually spanked in the 1st qtr.
We need speed & skill in our midfield - are Rozee & Butters near ready? I'd make a play for Shiel as he seems gettable. Yes he has poor disposal, but so does Boak. But Shiel is a strong inside mid with speed; get him to tidy up his disposal - short & to one of our outside runners (I'd put SPP in there as well. At least he'd hit bodies hard).
Lycett is a trier, but B grade. Trade him and give Hayes a shot, may or may not work out.
Need a genuine KPD - Jack Payne from Lions is worth a shot, and obviouslt Petty. Hell, I'd give Dixon a go in defence as he's got no idea how to play as a forward. Someone mentioned Talia, if fit he'd be better than Jonas & McKenzie.

Not trading Lycett but Hayes starts next year and the spot is his to lose. Might get a run of a few games drop back get another few but Lycett is not our 1st choice ruck from here in.

We need A-Grade midfielders, and when you think we have enough go and get some more.
We have just been pantsed by a side with 7 quality midfielders that would all walk into our team whilst we have 2 Boak and Wines that would get a game for Dogs and only one of them would play midfield, Wines
And the 7 are Bont,Libba,McCrae,Treloar,Smith,Hunter and Dunkley
To me we have to try Burton, he has all the physical and skill attributes but he has to be told to stop coasting and become the best player he can be.
Whilst checking out who is open to a move

Houston salary cap relief and a pick could look ok. Houston will play another 100 games at afl level. Houston I think only gets mentioned due to there being a story going around a while back that he would not be here next year for some reason?

Ultimately they will work something out that looks ok.
