Nothing will happen until draft night
Yup it’s all fun and games, GWS do hold the key thought, offering p19 would have minimal impact to their list, hopefully it will be a luckier selection for us with Nick’s at the helm, recent past Cunners, Stocker & Philp, have been disconcerting.
Perhaps our f2 & p46 may unlock it ? won’t move our f1 under any circumstances, question is do GWS need to bolster their position for 2023 draft cohort ?

Do we need points next year for Campo twins?

What's our cost for 29 to 19?
That sort of trade would probably be +F2, with something coming back.
Depends on demand for #19 overnight.

Hopefully there's a bid on Davey, F2 + our 3rd should get Essendon's #22.
If we're aiming for another 2nd (sounds like we are), we should probably go for something cheaper than #19 so that we're getting another top 30 pick, not trading up.

It costs to move up though.
If we trade our 3rd instead of our 2nd, the tax equates to a late 40s pick, very reasonable for moving up 5 spots in the first round.
However, consider that 19 is quite valuable (perhaps more so than say 17 & 18) due to it's position as pick #1 on day 2.

Like I said, brown paper bags and tanking for Kreuz just kept things so much simpler.

Idk personally 10 & 29 for 15 & 19 feels about right.

In fact going by the points system it's almost a perfect trade. 10 & 29 = 2,048 and 15 & 19 = 2,060

So if anything we're getting (very) slightly more value out of the deal.

Points can be a decent guide but are of no relevance in this instance. We have no need for points this year.

Any club giving up the greater asset (in this instance, pick 10) would expect a return weighted reasonably considerably in their favor. Particularly on draft night when the club trading up to pick 10 isn't doing so for no reason, they're more than likely doing so because they've got a specific player in mind.

I would have thought it would be dependent on which club initiated the trade.

If we're looking to trade down, GWS would probably ask for #10 and #29 in return for their #15 and #18/#19 - and that's assuming there's someone there available at #10 that they're keen on. However, if they're looking to trade up, then #10 and #49 for #15 and #19 may do the trick.

I still reckons if Busslinger is still on the board at our pick #10, WCE will come busting our door down to get in before the Dogs at #11, who you think would be almost certainties to select him given their KPD deficiencies. Now, THAT could be a deal that we could potentially cash in on.

So where is the penalty for moving up in the first round?

Moving up in the first round means paying overs for the priveledge.

10+49 is plenty for 15+19.

How about...
10, 29, 49, & 66
for
15, 18*, 31, 57 (*or 19)

The basis of it is still the 10+49 for 15+18. The 29 for 31 swap makes it more palatable for GWS, and 66 for 57 moves us up a little, on a pick we might be going to use (and they'll be using their last pick for an upgrade so won't matter to them).
