So if I say I want club to take Jefferson with no context on how that can come about, will that make sense.
It's about the focus of the post. If you were going over what you like about Jefferson and suggesting he might be worth sliding back for, that should be fine. If you say "I want Jefferson" then spend the rest of the paragraph discussing detailed trade scenarios, take it to the hypothetical thread. The distinction has to be rather ad hoc, but as a general rule I believe the mods want this to be a player focused discussion.

"Talk about the potential draftees, their strengths, their weaknesses, how much you like them and nothing else."

If you want to make up random scenarios about how YOU would magically make it happen if you were King of Everything, put it in the PickTrade Hypothetical thread...

If you look at the other teams draft boards they let you talk with no censorship
Enough.

Next post complaining about how this board is run will get you a red.

I've explained the roles of the different threads. If people obey the quite simple rules, everyone can find what they're interested in, and avoid stuff they're not.

Everyone else seems to have come to terms with the fact that different conversations should go in different threads. Except you.

Give it a rest.

If we target a mid/running type with our second pick who’s are peoples preferred picks?

Szybkowski as an inside mid type?

Ryan (or Cowan) - as a hbf/wing type who has tools to run through the midfield in time?

Jones/Clarke/burgiel - more hff types?

It's not censorship, mate. It is a matter of keeping your posts in the right thread so others will know what to expect when reading said thread. That is why we have a thread per topic.

Picks and players are part of the draft they coexist together and I haven’t seen any of the posters as being out of hand other than me probably two weeks ago when I was talking about 2023 draft but if ElDorado wants to take all the fun out of things that’s alright we will just talk about players only with no scenarios

Or, you know, you could talk about the qualities of the players, and what we need as team, based on facts and observations, in THIS thread.

And then complicated scenarios which have arisen only in your head, and are pretty close zero chance of happening, in the OTHER thread.

I'm sorry that not being able to write anything you want wherever you want is not fun for you. God knows, the whole purpose of this place is that you should find it fun.

Way to totally miss the point. Go and read TFS7 post #4701 above.

Is it possible to put up a poll like on the Essendon draft forum with the players around our pick so we can get a consensus on who the hawks supporters as a whole think we should pick.

We are perfectly placed to get who we want outside of Sheezel Wardlaw and Cadman.

Tsatas gives us outside spread and the consistent ability to find and use the ball cleanly. Could possibly transition to a complete inside/outside mid similar to Macrae. Not sold on his contested game in the seniors yet but he made big inroads this year so there is some hope there.

Humphrey gives us a contested clearance beast who can float forward and kick goals. Something we haven't had in what seems like forever. Obviously has some issues with his kicking he needs to iron out especially for goal but that hasn't stopped Dangerfield or Fyfe in becoming elite players.

The Poo probably is the highest upside player that could be available to us outside of Tsatas. Another big bodied athletic mid/fwd type although I do rate the way Humphrey hits the packs with a bit more speed and power over the Poo. The Poo has him beat on vision and ball use. Think if he can't make it as an AFL level midfielder could be a handy third tall at AFL level. We are in dire straits both up forward and in the middle so wouldn't be against the Poo here.

Clark seems to be the safest choice has 200+ solid games all over him. Wins the ball and hunts the player when he doesn't have it which is a winning formula in any era. Sam loves his self driven types and that has Clark all over it. Wouldn't be against Clark but he wouldn't be my first choice. That being said, I think with Ward and Clark we would have a very solid duo for the next ten years in terms of leadership.

I am thinking we still need another mid at our second. I keep jotting down names, Szybkowski, Hotton if he slides, Hurstwaite not sure on, Burgiel for his pace maybe., Jones if he slides, Hewitt same. I love D'Alioa but might wait, bit early for him here. I am sure MM will pick a BPA.

Can’t see much point in a poll when majority of posters in here are all saying the very same thing. “I’ll be happy with any of Tsatas, Humphrey, Phillipou, Ginbey, Clark or McKenzie”.

It would be interesting to see what the majority of Hawks supporters want before the draft we will be happy with whoever we get after the draft.

If posters are going to use the juvenile epithet Poo for Phillipou I am hoping we don’t draft him as I don’t think I could stand reading that over the course of his career. Kindergarten stuff.
How about “the pou”?

Why would you wanna keep putting trade hypotheticals in here, you blokes? Im sick of blokes putting pick hypotheticals in the player discussion thread!!!!

Does that thread disallow going off topic?

So you don't think MacDonald is in the mix?

What type of player are we looking at pick 24?
I asked the same question earlier as im also intrigued.

You would imagine it will depend on whoever gets through to our pick rather than needs based but that is purely a guess.

Twomey mentioned Burgeil and a few others in his latest phantom.

You would think we would be a big chance for Braden George,Charlie Clarke, Jakob Ryan or Konstanty if any of those were some how still available.
