Ashcroft
Wardlaw
Cadman
Sheezel
Tsatas
Mackenzie

Strong top six that we will likely just miss out on, unfortunately.

I'm not that upset considering what we've seen from Humphrey and Clark.

Clark reminds me of a Cotchin/David Swallow hybrid. A smart, one-touch midfielder who can tackle all day. A little bit of Jackson Macrae as well.

If we can land that pick 7 from the Gold Coast we could draft them both.

Remember, if we end up with Pick 7 from Gold Coast and Adelaide sends Pick 5 for Rankine they might just grab Busslinger, whose shown more than enough to get drafted top 5 and fills a dire need for them going forward. The perfect scenario here is getting pick 7 + Bowes (I'd happily give two seconds for that), they draft Busslinger and we take two of Mackenzie, Clark, Humphrey, and Phillipou.

Stop making me so excited!! Would be the dream outcome…

Assuming we land pick 7 (dangerous, I know) I think with an element of realism I can see the top end going like:

1. Ashcroft Bris
2. Cadman Norf
3. Wardlaw WCE
4. Tsatas GWS
5. Busslinger GCS
6. Sheezal Ess
7. Mackensie Haw
8. George/Humphrey/Clark/Phili Haw

Then ideally:
24 turns into Munkara

49. turns into Windsor

Rookie the second Windsor and Lawrence.

what a cracking game. Lots of good talent and the much hyped top 6 did not disappoint. I just hope one drops to us. Would love Tsatas but not going to happen. McKenzie shows so much class and just may drop to us?

I thought Hollands was great and would suit us but not at pick 6/7 and wont be there at pick 24/25 either. Need a pick around 12 to 15.

Plenty of depth in the draft it seems. Excluding players not playing today I liked the look of: Binns, Konstanley, Hustwaite, Gruzeski, Sybowski, Burgiel. (excuse my spelling as too lazy to check)

BUT, how do we get pick one next year to pick up Harley Reid. Great game, versatile, tough, skilled...wow.

and, I still think Clark will be a ripper. I love his aggression. I would not be unhappy with him at 6/7

Tonnie represent! Reid's going to put them on the map.

He will indeed!

There’s been a lot of guns from the area / bigger neighbouring towns but not so much little old Tongala.

Blake Campbell would’ve been the last one from Tongala to get drafted which would’ve been 20-25 years ago I reckon

His old man was a very good player for Tonny in the GVFL/MFL.

Harley Reid is special, If we could somehow get pick 7 from the suns. I'd be offering it to a team like the crows for their future 1st & bank on them going backwards.

Caleb Windsor is next year.

i saw the game differently to some of you guys, i thought Bailey Humphrey wasted so many inside 50's for Country it was frustrating, probably cost them the game, even his goal looked like a shank, see the difference when they finally moved Humphrey out and put in Harley Reid, nearly the match winning move.
rd 1
Cadman or MacKenzie the dream outcome imo.
rd 2
if Cadman then get whatever is left over of Syzbkowski, Ginbey, Burgiel or D'Aloia (midfielder)
if MacKenzie then get whatever is left over of George, Munkara, Clarke or Konstanty (sml forw)

Jhye Clark did well there - scrappy but
Hollands 140 ranking points…amazed no one has mentioned him…McKenzie is class but looks soft to me would rather Clarke or Poo

Playing the Serong card too, by trying to also lure Hollands bro from the Suns ;)

Hawks all about playing for complete sets.

Davo,

How many players do you envisage from today's game will get drafted this year?

from the 22 that played, i would say around 15/16 VM and 17/18 from VC.

they didnt play their best teams, there mustve been an agreement to only play 1 overager and 1 underager, players like Duursma, Philactides, Archer Reid, Nate Caddy, Logan Morirs even overagers like Pavlidis didnt get a game, which gave VC a big boost and they still wasted their inside 50's going to Humphrey a million times instead of Cadman, it cost them in the end.

Disclaimer - I watched from quarter time onwards.

Both Tsatas and Ashcroft had more of the ball than Mackenzie, and whilst both did a few nice things, it was Mackenzie that stood out more with ball in hand.

Cadman was excellent, and should have had another goal to his name had his teammate not taken advantage and wasted the opportunity. Definitely plays like a Roughy or Cameron kind of forward.

Clark was anonymous bar one great play in the last. Though he was leading the game in tackles.

Humphrey looked lively whenever he got near it. He was great in 1v1 contests. But he had one goal, three behinds and an OOTF that really should have been a goal though.

Sheezel kicked a class goal and was effective when he had the ball. I wish both he and Humphrey got to play through the middle though.

Yep - BNF winner & also the records game holder at Tongala with a touch over 400 games.

Also just up the road from Tonny is the hometown of Brayden George who is another talked about draft prospect.

Hopefully he can get a shot at reaching / showcasing the talent that he’s got.

Yes, Braydo is looking like going in the top 15-18 despite the ACL.
