If can acquire pick 16 in the Mitchell trade, I wonder if Jefferson would still be available and off interest to us?

Best available mid at our first pick and Big Jeff at our second makes sense from a list management perspective.

We could appease Coach Killer and take Hewett, he might be available there.
If we do end up with pick 16, may as well do a list of those likely to be available.

Won't be there:
Wardlaw
Sheezel
Cadman
Tsatas
Mackenzie
Clark
Humphrey
Phillipou
Busslinger
------------
Might be there:
Jefferson
Hewett
Ginbey
Hollands
Hotton
Hustwaite
------------
Will be there:
B. George

Konstanty

Any ideas why Mitch Edwards wasn't selected in the u17 futures squad? At 205cm he is probably still growing. I don't get to see a lot of WA or SA games but what I've seen in the colts he looks good. Superfooty has him at #9

My last top 20 back in early Sept was;
  1. Harley Reid - Bend
  2. Zane Duursma - Gipps
  3. Nate Caddy - North
  4. Jed Walter - GCS
  5. Colby McKercher - Tas.
  6. Cooper Simpson - Dand
  7. Nathan Philactides - Oak
  8. Ashton Moir - Glenlg
  9. Logan Morris - West Jets
  10. Koltyn Tholstrup - Subi
  11. Mitch Edwards - Peel
  12. Darcy Wilson - Murr
  13. Nick Watson - East
  14. Archer Reid -Gipps
  15. Kynan Brown - Oak
  16. Koen Sanchez - Est Frem
  17. Sam Frangalas - Dand
  18. Jack Delean - Sth Adel
  19. Daniel Curtin - Clare
  20. Archie Roberts - Sand

But now it would be
  1. Harley Reid - Bend
  2. Daniel Curtain - Clare
  3. Zane Duursma - Gipps
  4. Jed Walter - GCS
  5. Nate Caddy - North
  6. Colby McKercher - Tas.
  7. Ashton Moir - Glenlg
  8. Nathan Philactides - Oak
  9. Cooper Simpson - Dand
  10. Logan Morris - West Jets
  11. Koltyn Tholstrup - Subi
  12. Mitch Edwards - Peel
  13. Nick Watson - East
  14. Jack Delean - - Sth Adel
  15. Darcy Wilson - Murr
  16. Archer Reid -Gipps
  17. Kynan Brown - Oak
  18. Ryley Sanders - Sand
  19. Sam Frangalas - Dand

i think Mitch was 1 of 3 Peel players to play the Prelim Final instead of travel to play the u17's on GF day, Mitch Edwards, Clay Hall and Ethan Logan stayed in WA.

If Ginbey is available at our second , then would be a great get, very similar to Chad Warner at same age, except Ginbey is tougher.

In: Pick 6, Brockman, Amon, Meek, 1+ year development
Out:McEvoy, Mitchell, Gunston

We will be a stronger team next year.
I hate disagreeing with optimistic Hawthorn posts but I disagree.

We will be a similar team but far less experienced. A couple of extra losses will come from that alone.

Hope I'm wrong though.

We're only losing Gunston and McEvoy from the best 22 though, bringing in Amon and probably Meek.

Wingard playing a full season makes up for the loss of Gunston which we didn't have in 2021 anyway and only finished one spot lower.

Full seasons from Wingard and Lewis
Brockman back into the best 22
Butler, MacDonald, Moore have another 12 months of development

Cal Twomey has released his September form guide for the draftees:

Top 10:
Ashcroft > Wardlaw > Tsatas > Sheezel > Cadman > Humphrey > Clark > Gibney > MacKenzie > Jefferson
It’s an interesting list - reckon the top 5 will be clearly gone but sense that order of Humphrey, Clark, ginbey, Mackenzie is a bit more fluid.

Ginbey keeps getting put early by tworney but not as high by the BF draft watchers - I wonder if we’re one of the clubs who rate him?

Hollands moving up the list too. Nice player would love him. Runs hard both ways and inside and outside game. Long kick too. Did turn it over with some ambitious long kicks. Would be a great fit for our midfield.

Still not keen on McKenzie as others are. You watch the U18 game from last week most of the ball he got in close he was not able to get free like the good players can. Reckon he has a touch of the Worpels lacking a bit of agility. His outside work was ok couple of really nice kicks. The guns got to work in that game and showed they have another level. I didn't think he did.

Humphrey is intriguing...patrolled the Fwd 50 and looked to break the game open. Was in front and found the ball every time. Then a quiet 2nd half and ends up with 1.3. Big risk but big reward.

Binns a machine.

Love Constanty (sp?) He's a beauty.

Harley Reid holy crap what a player.
