There is a few decent big bodied midfielders in the top 30. Hawks could trade back and still land one or two. So it would not be a surprising move if they traded back a few spots if it lands them extra assets. I reckon they will stay put though.

I was adamant on him until a few weeks ago, but think Allen is first choice. All these smokes and mirrors re Clark and Tsatas. We are usually pretty tight lipped at Geelong. Allen isn’t even invited to draft night (yet!)… remind you of the last time this happened?

If Twomey is correct about the Monday invites, WCE are probably considering between Ginbey/Clark/Mackenzie at pick 8. Allen hasn't been invited (yet)

I don’t think we’ll go with either, even if both available. Reckon we get Allen. Very Geelong pick.. we typically go for high risk (eg. Injury, limited sample size), high reward types. Think we can afford to go risky as well. He has the greatest upside of who will be available.

The thing is that the order from Essendon to West Coast has changed half a dozen times now.

He said those 3 clubs interviewed him the most. The saints could be doing last minute interviews this weekend with Tsatas as it does sound like there is some noise now linking us.

Twomey seems to think it’s a possibility of some sorts as he has asked Tsatas about us

Ashcroft will likely be better than all their current mids. But you’re right.

I kind of get the feeling we might not bid either based on Rawlings interview with Twoomey yesterday.

He had a bit of a slip of the tongue when he said “we still think we are going to be getting #1 and #2 on our draft board” or something to that effect when talking about the trade of the #1 pick and the JHF deal.

And then was a bit non comital when asked about the Ashcroft bid and said we are generally pretty honest and will bid with integrity that reflects our rankings.

I have a feeling Ashcroft might not get bid on until #4 if they do have Ashcroft at 3 behind Wardlaw and Sheezel on the board.

If that’s the case you’ll be bidding on Ashcroft. Clear best player in this draft.

In that scenario it will be an interesting call for geelong...i still think we take clark but if it unfolds that way i can see a club making us an offer for p7 to try and grab tsatas or humphrey before st kilda get them..im not sure whether we would slide back to the teens depends on how good the offer is and how much we want clark.

Just googled it. Premise is trading 3 straight first round picks for pick 1 in the NFL draft. Seems a bit unrealistic at least for the AFL

The Gold Coast recruiting team travelled to Dunsborough to visit the Ginbeys. That’s 11 hours flying plus 6 hours driving (Dunsborough’s 3 hours from Perth). Add to that the time waiting for flights and you get close to a day. It seems pretty clear to me that Ginbey’s off to Gold Coast.

i doubt very much they would view an F2 pick as a strong asset. They're looking at top 10 picks for 2023 draft.

You are not getting top 10 picks in a significantly stronger draft for picks in the teens from this draft. If this is what the swans recruitment team are expecting then they are living in a fantasyland.
