Article is great, this stat I find really does highlight a lot of what Swans fans are saying. We just need to improve our stoppages. No cooncidence that the top 4 teams are all the best at scoring for interceptions and stoppages

I am surprised by Essendon there though. Suggests if they can improve their defence they will rocket up the table themselves

Very interesting, if we can improve our stoppages it will go a long way to improving our chances at a flag. I know there's no easy fix, but it's a promising stat, particularly with the potential of our younger guys stepping up, and the improvement in our ruck stocks, there's no reason why we cant improve in that area. I get a positive feeling about this season.

Rubbish if it's accidental , hit the hand and footy and he only got knocked out when hits his head on the ground . So if Heens takes a speccy and his knee hits the head and knocks the bloke out do we suspend him . Society has gone too f ing soft . Believe me i don't want anyone injured , but an accident is an accident . Might as well have no body contact at all . I saw in girls game on the weekend a girl had her head over the footy and the oppo takes her out , that's what should be banned , as most of the time that can be avoided
He could have attempted to spoil with a straight arm but chose the swinging motion instead. There was little doubt that he would make contact with Lloyds head even if he did also hit the ball.
Head contact in a marking contest is totally different and you should know that. Unless it is deemed deliberate.
I think you are fighting a losing battle here.

The problem now is that champion data have a stat for 150 different categories. You can't be great in all of them.

Not at all , maybe in your mind , anyhow it's two weeks old .

Petracca put his foot into it on AFL360. Was about halfway through saying 'how good would it be in Buddy kicked his 1000 at the MCG' and Whately & Robbo shut him down real quick. Like, err, he plays for Sydney mate, in Sydney. They've scheduled the first 2 games in Sydney so you know, the home crowd have a good chance of seeing him kick the 1000...and Petracca is like. Ooops:tongueoutv1:

Yes mate. Great and important things are allowed to happen away from the MCG
Apparently not. When questioned the other night on 360 about having a GF rematch to start every year, the VFL head, said it would only be appropriate if it were to be played at the MCG. It's probably 50 years away before this comp truly becomes an Australian one rather than Victorian.

Who's head of the VFL ?

Probably not until it has been officially the AFL longer than the VFL at least

That's easily solved. The team which finished highest on the ladder will have the GF replay at their home if both teams are non-Vic teams.

Good. Got a ticket to our April game against them. I hope it's an out and out flogging!!
I think it will be. We were very much trying things the other day and still flogged them. I mean we deliberately long bombed to give the tall forwards marking practice. We tried a handball only game at one stage. Yes.I think it will be very different next time

I think the point was, that they think the season opener should always be played at the MCG. So the second part to the solution is that they play a vic based game ahead of the GF rematch in the event the GF rematch is between two interstate sides.

Kyle Dunkley now a Swans Covid top up
