Likely to be a grade 3-4 AC sprain requiring stabilization. Any fractures would heal at the same time and not add to the layoff, but 12 weeks is about right.

How bad is Ash Johnson's hamstring? He couldn't get off the ground.

Didn’t see the incident so if it’s a really bad one, hopefully he took some bone with it.

What do you mean by this exactly?

If it was a proximal hamstring tear, i.e. from the pelvis rather than behind the knee, then it’s probably better that the bony attachment of the hamstring to the pelvis “broke” off, than the tendon tearing near that point.

Both would be classified as a hamstring injury, but in the former case the bit of bone can be screwed back onto the pelvis and it heals better than a massive tendon tear.

I have zero information on this injury, so this is just blind optimism on my part. It very likely isn’t the case.

As much as it really sucks for young players to be out injured and missing development, it is notable that the extent of our Best 22 injury list is currently just:

Jamie Elliott (12 weeks)
Mcreery (1 week)

Not so easy to win games with mounting injuries is it, just ask poor old Buckley. Not easy to play your preferred game plan either
Getting it forward to a contest with physical competitors like Elliott, Mcreery and Mihocek seems like a good idea. But quick to contests involving Henry, Wilson, WHE and Cameron - jeez.

I'm interested to see how Macrae addresses it. Kreuger may help. McInnes needs to suddenly arrive and I still think we'll need to give JDG and Adams serious forward rotations.
