Miers injury opens the door for Stengle but we are well stocked for small fwd options so not worried there.

Hopefully ceglar can play at least one practice game and be ready for R1..i believe rhys plays his best when he has competition for his spot and we need ceglar to be fit to give him that (as conway and neale arent realistically ready to ruck this year).

Frank the tank aswell.

And so it begins on the eve of the season again.
but high ankle sprain is not something you can really prevent.... inverted ankle sprain hard to stop IMO....

its not like its overuse or anything.

Granted, the timing sucks big time.

Gives him time to start thinking about learning the art of kicking a footy like an adult....
inversion sprains are somewhat preventable with rigorous taping, but does that lead to more high ankle sprains? Not sure.
Something good can always come out of lay-offs and time out.

Kevin Sheedy's motto was always to try and turn a negative into a positive in both life and in your footy career.

Dunno whether I would mess with his kick TBH. Yes, its a disaster and terrible for field kicking..... but its been very effective when directed towards goals so far. You lose that part of his game and instead of a dangerous small forward who can cover heaps of ground he turns into a below average midfielder.

Good points, but seemed to be sus under pressure around goals sometimes last season. If only he stayed nearer goals all game.

Once again it seems as though the club want to keep us in the dark over injuries this year

Duncan and Henry we had to find out from the media. Still no word from the club on Duncan
They havent really given any progress on Henry and Menegola, is there any word on how Menegola is tracking, no update since they said he had had surgery end of last year.

Surely they can give us some sort of update like if they have returned to training etc.

We continually find out about injuries from Mitch Cleary, K Rock or the geelong addy first and not the club.
Maybe its just me, but the club really do like to be all secretive dont they.

We are just about the only club who doesnt let fans come and watch the intra club or atleast stream it live on our website like a few othr clubs ive noticed have, we just get a few little highlights like two outside 50 goals from Isaac Smith, big deal.

Club still has a long way to go with its communication with members in my opinion

Good news - an early season debut is still on the cards.

Hope so, don't want him to start looking like a Cowan. We have a history of patience with our young injury-prone players, and I hope that continues.

Hopefully there was a high degree of caution. He needs to stay fit. 3rd year.

Very pleased it's a sprain and not more serious.
He did show some very good signs at times considering how rusty he would have been.
He's a great size and has ample power to be an inside mid with spread capability - very keen to watch him progress.

Sorry for the intrusion! But I was just wondering if anyone knew what the go is with Menegola? Will he be right by round one? For SuperCoach draft reasons.

No chance - but might be worth a spot on your bench if he gets up within the first 6 weeks. Only player who's been conclusively ruled out for Round 1 at this stage.

Hope that helps!
