The good news keeps coming.

“GEELONG will welcome back Mitch Duncan for Friday night’s blockbuster clash with Sydney after the classy midfielder successfully negotiated his return from pre-season calf issues in the VFL.

Duncan played three quarters of the practice match loss to Essendon at The Hangar on Saturday, and will only need to get through training this week to take on the Swans at the SCG.

“(He) looked really sharp,” VFL coach Shane O’Bree told K rock Football.

“I assume now he just needs to pull up well and get through training, and he should be up for (AFL) selection next week.”

Geez we have a lot of injuries over pre season reading the above. Duncan, Menegola, Bews, Rohan, Miers, Simpson, Henry, O'Connor who are all best 22.

Seems a bit extreme?

Bews & Simpson both suffered concussions within the last couple of weeks

Menegola had a knee surgery following last season; so it's all recovery and returning form that

I hope the hip doesn't become a season long niggle
Well that really is a concern. From a sports injury website

Hip pointer treatment

Hip pointers get better on their own with rest, ice, and compression. While it heals, you might still be able to play sports by wearing a protective pad over your hip.

For more severe hip pointer injuries, you may need to use crutches.

Recovery time for a hip pointer varies from a few weeks to a few months, depending on the severity
I suspect this week impact him for a while yet

Do we have actual confirmation that he’s suffering from a hip pointer? There was so much confusion on the day, and the fear of internal issues was the immediate concern.

I’m trying to be overly optimistic, and hoping that the hip really wasn’t the main issue.

I feel sorry for SDK. The young bloke was doing well until he went off. Having to sit out for 12 days, (and rightly so), would be hard on a young bloke wanting to establish a permeant spot in the team. I look forward to his return.

He looked so much more composed on the weekend.
Competed really well in the air but it was his groundball game that stood out for me.
Didn't panic , gave off quality handballs to guys who were clear and was willing to run into spaces before giving it off - rare for a Geelong tall back to look so agile and creative

What time do people think the Club will release a report on the well being of Cameron?

Like the video that was released yesterday with Cameron giving a direct update on his condition?

The club did provide an update following the match, but we may have to wait until later in the week for further info

Will have a run tomorrow, a light training session wednesday and captains run on thursday. They will give him until the last minute to prove his fitness.

Sounds very promising, I don't mind if he misses this week even if precautionary, but it sounds like he won't be sidelined for long.
