Tim Kelly pushes Cam Guthrie into a contest, he trips and falls. Atkins hits him with a knee to the head. Cam out for the rest of the season with serious concussion. Atkins knee obliterated and gone also. Atkins falls over and lands in the path of Tom Stewart, who does an ankle trying to evade. Hawkins runs in and clocks Tim Kelly from behind. Four week suspension. Stengle remonstrates and shoves the umpire. Four weeks also.

In all seriousness, I doubt we'll see any injuries. I'm still confident about this season. :D

Benny Cas on Cat Attack Krock podcast said his mail is that Jezza will be touch and go for QF.

Gave the impression that the injury is legit.

you‘d assume he’s got reasonable contacts…

Tom King didn’t really say much, just sort of went along with it.

interesting stuff

No strapping on either Stanley or Cameron and both training.

If there was serious doubt I'm not sure that would be the case.

Do you believe it because the club told us that?
No I'm actually a staunch club questioner... If it was more serious there would have been riddles and vagueness

Very confident he’ll be fine then.

Fwiw I'm also confident he'll be fine, but trusting a photo from the paper as proof of anything is nonsense unless it is literally time and date stamped

I’m offended by this suggestion.

Why does he have to have a replacement leg? Why can’t he be play as a poster boy for amputees?
He can be

I just thought he was jealous of Dangerfield getting a bionic leg to replace the one with repeated calf issues that Jezza wanted to do similar

Thanks mate for the commonsense update. Gee we've got a few chicken little's here.

Also - saw the article about Sav playing down back.

Guess what to all those haters, I reckon Sav is taking SDK's spot down back this week. Would be a great learning curve to play against Darling and a very weakened Eagles side. Ceglar loves to chop out down back, so he'd have some protection. But overall, he's a freak athlete, and doesn't have to hunt the ball in this role as we all know his timing is a bit off. So let him follow his man and use his capabilities to launch at the ball at the last second to spoil. We might very surprised and it would be something awesome to roll out next season.
Sav still has to show at least some evidence that he has some football nous and ability to read the game - an area he has demonstrated significant weakness. I just can’t see him being even close to best 22 until there is dramatic improvements…

Agree. But he does have to be given the opportunity to play.

Adding to his previously average play - I don’t think we were the best team over the last few years at getting the ball in to him effectively. It would make any forward who was not a naturally talented footballer struggle.

With the vast improvement in our team in direct ball movement, who knows - maybe it will work to improve him and his contribution.

That concept of a rising tide lifts all boats seems to be something that is working for a lot of geelong players.

Zuthrie, Miers and Atkins have improved a lot with the right system around them. This in turn has improved the system and it has become a virtuous circle.

Generally when a team is on song, battlers end up being world beaters. The Richmond team comes to mind - where they all looked like gods when they were winning and now that the magic has gone - their supporters are turning on those very same players.

I tend to believe the coach over media.

In this instance I agree but there are plenty of examples of clubs looking to keep things under wraps that the media bring into the mainstream.

So do I.

In this case, you just have to factor in how 'close' Ben is to the coach, though. You seriously only have to listen to Benny for five minutes to know the level of respect and connection between those two is absolutely off the charts. Two bodies, one mind...

:D
