West Coast still the 3rd oldest list, despite being 2nd to bottom of the ladder. You would think they are in for a few lean years over the next couple as their older guys start retiring. Kennedy, Hurn, Naitanui, Shuey, Redden, McGovern, Darling and Gaff will all likely retire over the next couple of years.

They’re kinda ****ed….

They don’t have much coming through the ranks at all in the future

Will Hamill press conference today he spoke how Smith, Brown and Seedsman have been important in his development and people he always asked questions of and has helped him alot, found it strange that he didn't mention Doedee at all considering he's in the leadership group and plays in the backlines with Hamill.

Clubs are worried about being in the middle / start of a rebuild .... IF Tassie is allowed in the Comp & given the GWS / GC size Draft Concessions

I'm not sure there will be a Tassie team. Most Vic teams don't want it. Seems to be the interstate clubs that do.

I'm with you on this .....can the AFL afford financing another club, after GWS and GC ?

IMO, wait till GWS and GC are completely self-sufficient .....the fact the AFL have stipulated a closed stadium PLUS the Govt to contribute $10M indexed for a very long period ....indicates the AFL also doubts Tassie can be self-sufficient financially, with Govt Subsidy

You can bet your bottom dollar we'll be looking at increases the average age profile by going after Free Agency as opposed to hitting the draft, much to the misery of some on here.
No reason we can't do a bit of both. We just need to offload a few contracted players.

Out of curiosity anyone know how Will Gould is travelling up in Sydney? He still playing primarily as a back flanker?

I quite liked him in his draft year, and am a bit surprised he's still yet to debut.
Played really well for the Bays in their senior Premiership.

A Sydney mate tells me he's worked hard to get himself up to fitness and develop his game, been in the bests in VFL, only being kept out by the lack of injuries in the Swans backline.

OOC end of this year, should be a target for us having been schooled at a quality Swans outfit, like our next Captain Dawson.

No we won't, Nicks likes being able to hang his hat on youngest side status as it covers his arse for where we are at and going. 11th then under Nicks, 18th, 15th, 16th

Scary thing is that Swans are only Buddy and Kennedy retiring away from being close to youngest!

There is an obvious answer as to why he'd be asking Smith, Brown and Seedsman for advice and not Doedee.

I remember him having a weapon of a leg as a junior, and was a good decision maker/QB type. As much as we don't need another HBFer, I am all for getting more good kicks into our team.

Time for a serious sit down with Andrew McPherson re his future, just seems to lapse from one injury to the next.

I saw the headline and already knew the answers...

Of course it's a first round pick for Port and a third for the Crows, old SEN doesn't disappoint.

Seemed a reasonable article. He didn’t seem to say Amon would get them a first though, he posed the question and seemed to think he’ll fall between Daniher and Ellis for $.

Rendell doing a bit of revision. Polec or Redden and pick 30 is not a great deal and Brisbane werent even prepared to offer that.
Thought it was Pick 8 of that year?? Could have been Toby Green.... If they gave us 30 to could have had Neale or Yeo.

Add those two and we easily win 2017 premiership also if we hadn't have lost our draft picks we would also have had Patty Cripps.

The Tippett fiasco is as bad as the selecting McGregor over Pavlich in terms of stopping us winning a premiership.
