Smith said that Doedee had niggles from the weekend, didn’t train and had had issues throughout the year. I think he’s been playing pretty banged up and we should have given him a rest and tried Worrell.

Also think the role we have him playing isn’t allowing him to play to his strengths. He should be better than he’s showing given how he started his career
The thought of replacing an experienced player with an inexperienced one would be a no go currently I imagine. He can play, so he does, even if his effectiveness is dropped because he's playing hurt.

This post is just embarrassing. Yes Keays isn't the best kick in the team but at least compare oranges with oranges to make a point, not two photos at different stages of impact.
In the team???..

Geez.. i’m almost certain Keays is one of the worst kicks in the comp, let alone the team..

He maybe just beaten to the punch on ot though by his team mate ROB..

Whats embarrassing is you constantly excusing him for his horridness.

Look at the difference in the ball. That's so obviously a shank from Keays, in comparison that Ball drop from Thilthorpe looks like perfection.
Bad choice of pictures for the point you're making. TT is showing the ball drop, Keays has already kicked the ball. Furthermore, TT is kicking a completely different kick to Keays. TT is kicking forward and Keays is kicking around the corner.

I'm not defending Keays kicking but just arguing these pictures provide an unfair comparison.😁

What makes you think Keays is kicking around the corner?

-His body weight is back.
-His kicking leg has already crossed over his body mid line.
-His kicking foot is turned inward.
-The direction of the ball (not even Benny can shank it that bad)

I'm not an AFL expert but I'm happy to discuss athletic biomechanics with anyone.

If I'm wrong in this case, well, so be it. However, I see zero in this kick that says he's kicking forward.

Who cares which way he’s kicking it..

one things for sure is you can be certain it didnt hit its intended target.. because 9 times out of 10 it doesnt..

Congratulations, you've just described all the reasons why Ben is a shit kick.

PS he's not tryiing to kick it anywhere other than straight.

Crows 101

Play a guy into the ground - Doedee
Keep replacement players on the outer - Worrell

During a rebuilding year when finals aren't in the picture

It's really no wonder we're in our fifth season in a row out of the finals. Just too many poor decisions

Did you hear Roo's comments when quizzed about Worrell and Newchurch?

Rachele was played when not 100% before after a few ineffective games he was put out injured. Should not risk playing kids injured when there's nothing finals wise to be gained. Nicks just trying to save his own arse - again!

OMG no what did he say now?
If we bring any more inexperienced players in, we will no longer be competitive.

(Was in an article in the 'tiser yesterday)

I guess that rules out Taylor getting a game then.

So that’s the latest theme and mirrors what Bello said. It’s lucky everyone of our senior players is in form then.

If losing by 40 points most weeks is us being competitive, then clearly we're up shit creek regardless.

How do they know we won't be competitive?

It's not like we've tried it and it's failed

It’s not a new theme. It’s been Adelaide’s MO for quite a long time.

the problem is that the selectors don’t discern between quality epxerienced players (eg Tex) vs poor experienced players (eg Mackay, Murphy).

Is anyone able to share one/some of Roo's actual quotes in this article...?
Nothing to controversial there is there...that's it in total..

Crows board member Mark Ricciuto said it was a balancing act between blooding young players and being competitive.

“I think there is always a balance, not talking about the Crows, but when you are a rebuilding side there is always a balance between having blokes who are physically strong enough and can compete so you don’t get flogged,” he said on the Bump SA.

“If you play too many kids at once you can expose the side and get flogged and not learn anything because you can’t compete and aren’t strong enough.”

Did you hear Roo's comments when quizzed about Worrell and Newchurch?

If they don't like playing reserves they can go play for someone else?
