My god you are dense, all he did was miss a meeting (for good reasons). I doubt he wants or needs any sympathy from a person like you.Time for Rory to re evaluate his relationship then, in the scheme of things if his partner can't cope with a few months of trade and contract dramas then they might want to think about becoming involved with a professional athlete.
So many people have to deal with stress in their lives (due to sick kids, family trauma, illness or accidents), manage stressful relationships with far less income, far fewer opportunities and way less contract certainty than Lobb. Why does he get sympathy for this? Especially when the whole situation has been cooked up by Colin Young two years in a row??
I’m offended by this post.So switch the freakin phone off??
Geezuz, am I the only one that remembers when phones were always tied to a wall and beeped at you when you answered them??
Fruick me you young whipper snappers probably don't even remember long distance dial tone bips.
And you've never had to use dial up, or a cassette tape, have you??
So switch the freakin phone off??

Exactly, and that is why players have managers. So they are fully aware of what they are signing up for.Lobb and Young can play the victim card as much as they like - Freo didn’t create this situation. We all sign contracts in life.
Colin, stop.My god you are dense, all he did was miss a meeting (for good reasons). I doubt he wants or needs any sympathy from a person like you.
You should be happy he is leaving then.Colin, stop.
Rory Lobb sucks.

If it’s true that he’s sold his Perth home, and has purchased an expensive home in Melbourne, wasn’t that pulling the cart before the horse?Excuse me if ive only read about 300 posts and may have missed some. Whilst im not the hugest Lobster fan I always semi respected how he knuckled down and played some of his best football for Freo this year, despite having his trade request (rightly) rejected last year.
Look, its what I would expect a mature adult to do so Im not showering him with undue accolades for doing the right thing but its certainly not nothing.
At this moment we have no indication that he is not handling this in a similarly mature fashion and will knuckle down for another year with Freo as he should.
Now if it turns out that he indeed has chucked a tantie and not rolled up to this meeting due to cracking the sads, then I would treat him like I would treat my child when they throw a tantrum. They certainly cant be rewarded for that behaviour, its not in their long term best interests. If Rory has not attended due to sulking then he plays at Peel and once he has stopped crying and apologises he can come out and play with the big kids.
One thing you never do when someone is tantruming is give in and ler them have their way because “its just easier”.
To be clear, for now Im giving Rory the benefit of the doubt and urge him to complete his contract as we planned, to ensure Josh, Sturty and Nev have the cover to develop for another year.
After that, So long and thanks for all the fish
What authority are you speaking of?I remember those days well. I also remember when young adults had respect for authority. A lot of posters on here seem to lack respect.
Wait, Hayden is making promises to Rory's partner??All can be true at once. She moves to Melbourne because Young has promised them Rory will move to a new contract on the big bucks after the three years and everything will work out.
I'd be livid if my partner turned off his phone to avoid talking to me when I was upset at the situation. Absolutely livid
Stuff you rabbit eared old boomer dog.I remember those days well. I also remember when young adults had respect for authority. A lot of posters on here seem to lack respect.
And when the tool is signalling that he is avoiding you when he knows you're vulnerable and upset, needing him then it's not the phone that's the problemNot wanting to be rude, but if a phone being off for a while is all it takes to generate livid feelings, then a relationship ain't healthy.
Phones are tools and devices.
Use a tool and a device, don't become one.
Exactly! There’s FIFO workers on way less money, who have to deal with 3 and 1 rosters or worse! If Young likes manipulating everything and everyone, he can go and manipulate it so we get the alternative forward we need or an offer worth losing lobb for.
Besides, Freo are in Melbourne 1 out of every three weeks or so. I'm sure they will survive for twelve months. They aren't teenagers.

Hes allowed to purchase a property in Melbourne, so his partner has a nice place, knowing he will eventually be living there. If he indeed sold his Perth house with a year on his Perth based contract still pending, well..... I guess hes renting now or maybe he could live in one of Colons houses? You cant fix stupid I guess. If it’s true that he’s sold his Perth home, and has purchased an expensive home in Melbourne, wasn’t that pulling the cart before the horse?
Young seems to be the issue.
