It makes me sad. Part of me thinks if GWS had traded him the first time around things would have been different. Obviously no basis for that assumption, but I do like to wonder what could have been.

Also know he struggled a lot in that first year after football. Hope he's found happiness elsewhere now. Really did like the guy.
I wanted him badly when I saw this.

Having heard a few stories though, I think he was always bound to go off the rails.

The beauty of this is we absoloutly have lobb over a barrell. He has to preform for us next season otherwise his next contract will be horrendous. He used to be one of my favourites, couldn't be more off him now. Really hope Bell doesn't back down.

That's the thing. Colin Young can play all his little games and drum up as much drama as he wants, but at the end of the day it's gonna be to his and Lobbs detriment.

I was so excited when Lobb and Hogan came to Fremantle. I got sucked in by Lobb's sob story about how he was so bullied at school he had to go and work in the mines. He's clearly not bright, and Young has taken advantage of that. Logue always came across as being reasonably intelligent, but maybe it's just his self confidence (cockyness)

I think the clubs verbal position is part posturing to get the best possible deal for Freo.

If the right deal doesn’t eventuate, hi Rory, we’ve got your old locker cleaned and ready to go again.

Logue has gotten a lot more money and security and to play in his preferred role. His is easier to understand and sympathise with as disappointing as it is.

Here is some news for you guys.

My dad met some of sharps family at a work event tonight and he is home sick and is desperate to get back to WA.

Didn’t get the details ok whether he wants Freo or West Coast as he didn’t want to push it.

So it’s a chance

Isn't he keen to play with Jackson?

His round 1 against North in 2019 really made me think he was going to make it, he was electric that game (as was the team, we didn't look like that at all for the rest of that year, not even against the teams worse than Norf). What could have been...

If we could get Sharp for whatever we might get for Lobb I'd take it. P*ss off you bleached git.

Just posting this here for the LOLs. Lobb and Young are absolutely being savaged on Facebook!

It’s called the consequences of your actions, Colin. Should’ve thought a bit harder.

I get that take, but nahhhhh baby, the new culture isn't let him get shipped off for a mega 4 year deal as a reward for being a Colin Young Crumpet face pawn of media headlines.

The real new culture is we hold you to your contract unless we get great trade value, and if you behave like a flog you get weeks in WAFL.

Stupid part is if Lobb sticks with us he probably plays multiple prelims, he goes to the dogs he'll be lucky to still be first choice 22 in 3 years. Especially if his contract with them is back end loaded, no way does he see out a 4 year deal and play every game for them.
Why would anyone want him around the club?! He's a prick, a tantrum-hissy fitter and a known mercenary now......likely to get jeered by his own "fanbase". I certainly won't be interested in watching him play for us now; King Tenz HATES his guts! :tearsofjoy: I really don't see the point, I'd rather cash him in and piss him off. Of all the players wanting out, he's the one I'm least concerned by, never wanted him here in the first place back in 2018. He had one 'terrific' year: this one. And I thought the idea was Lobb out, Jackson in - and of course I thought losing him off the back of this year was potentially catastrophic with Tabs being injured so much, but I think it's more potentially catastrophic to keep him now after all the histronics of this.

No one is bigger than any given club. Ship him off and be done with it, that 2018 draft and trade is a curse and a bane; time to sever the last of the trade-ins that needs it (Colyer excused for exemplary behaviour!)

Just want Lobb gone.

As satisfying as it would be to hold him to his contract just having him around our young playing group will be toxic, could you imagine this drama dragging along all season? The head ache and distraction it would cause just wouldn’t be worth it.

Hopefully the Doggies can get Brisbane’s first round pick for Dunkley and they send it to us at the 11th hour for Lobb

It's honestly more important for the club to hold It's ground here in the grand scheme of things lest agent and player tantrums alike be rewarded with juicy paycheques to our continual detriment as a club. I think our culture is strong enough to withstand a little internal petulance.

I don't to ship him off because then he gets what he wants. I want him to embarrass himself and have to face the group at the end of all that.

Don't really think it will have any effect on our young playing group. The young guys are the ones that seem more invested and committed than anyone else. If one player being held to his contract ruins the team culture then was it really ever that good to begin with?

I agree - we have to make an example of him, as anybody can just disregard their contract by throwing a tantrum.

The bad part is, he's annoyed a great deal of his supporters, an d it wont be great following a team with him in it.

Colon should’ve thought about the impact of Logue walkinh

Much as I want to just chuff him off for a pack of chips, the Club’s stance makes sense and sends multiple messages:

  • to the Bulldogs - if you really want him, fair warning that you need to find something of value that interests us enough to let him go

  • to Lobb - you signed a frontloaded contract and we’re not obliged to trade you, you can decide whether you want to sit out next year or play like crap for us in your remaining year as you sook and risk having other clubs losing interest in hiring you in 2024 OR you put your manager to work finding a trade that will convince the Dockers to trade. OR maybe you honour your contract which you signed and play well so you can get a better offer next year

  • to Colin Young - your modus of negotiating in public, presenting the club a fiat accompli destination for your want away CONTRACTED mercenary client IS NOT GOING TO ****ING FLY. Do your job and give us a good reason to change our minds, otherwise you and your client can **** right off. And remember this embarrassing backlash the next time you want to pull the same trick.

So true. Watch him stay and everyone love him when he kicks 40 goals next year and we’re into the GF.

Then this place go’s nuclear for the third season in a row when he requests a trade.

I feel like it could be more detrimental to the club to have someone like that here, in the long run. Even just one more year. Especially off the back of how good this year has been for the club, led by absolute pros like Andy and Caleb. then you've got this mongrel. It doesn't matter to me if he gets his money elsewhere, he can be someone else's problem then....you cut the air of toxicity and it's amazing what it feels like to breathe again.
I don't to ship him off because then he gets what he wants. I want him to embarrass himself and have to face the group at the end of all that.
And what purpose does that ultimately serve?! It would cause more friction and harm than not because others would get dragged into the tug-of-war and then it becomes more than football. We've done a really good job of not having too much controversy in J-Lo's time and a unity and balance which has been satiating to say the least after the latter of the Lyon years with Bennell, Hogan etc.

I get what people are saying. And why. But I honestly couldn't get him out the door quick enough now, he's not a team player. He's a Lobb player, or a Young player...whichever shoe fits

My guess is North and the AFL now know what players are coming in. Based on those players and contracts the AFL will award priority picks to North in line with FA compensation.

Would be nice if we got looked after for a change and the AFL fudged shit for our benefit
