Its Happening Ron Paul GIF

IN: Jackson, Henry, Sharp, Corbett
OUT: Lobb, Logue, Acres, Meek

If Bell could somehow pull this off it would be one of the greatest feather in his cap possible.

Henry and Corbett help fix our forward line issues. Sharp has more potential to be a gun then Acres ever did and is of the right age for our list. Would be making the best of a bad situation sort of thing.

I think I've asked you this before, but who is your dream pick-up? Bolton?
Depends, are we talking realistically or dream as in no chance but fun to think about?

I do like Bolton, I think he still goes missing a bit but he's a gun

I think we should store our cash and use it when a player is worth it. Example, Logan McDonald isn't worth big coin, but if he shows more next year and becomes a consistent best 22 goal kicker taking big marks, then I'd throw coinage at him. But right now I wouldn't throw crazy money at him

Dream - Ben King, Harry McKay, De Goey

I'd keep our money and wait til a player is worth it, then go big. We're no chance of McKay, but I'd fully support throwing money at him

Would be stoked if West Coast are keen on Jackson, even better if they use pick 2. 2 x firsts and 800+k in capspace for a bloke who doesn't even have a position he's nailed down. A lot to invest in a guy who we hope will be the next Mark Blicavs.

So at the moment according to bigfooty and current status we may be looking at Jackson in plus 4 x second rounders (one each for Lobb, Meek, Logue, Acres)

But we probably lose Lobb, Logue, Meek, Acres and our first round pick plus 2 second round picks (traded for a first round pick to satisfy Melb).

Gain: Jackson plus 2 x second rounders
Loss: First round + Lobb, Logue, Acres, Meek

Yeah, nah. Thats not a good outcome. Get to work Wallsy and Belly.

Meek and Logue are two that could come back to haunt us. Have the talent to be pretty good if given the right opportunity.

I would spend the two late firsts on him (with something coming back). Bolton, Amiss and Freddy would be a nightmare.
I agree, but Richmond just wouldn't do it. J. Riewoldt has already talked up their Premiership chances and they'll most likely be adding Hopper and Taranto....the whole 'equalisation' thing in the AFL is a myth and the reality is we're more of a 'minnow' type club in an already small 18 team competition. We're not as 'destination' as those "powerful' Victorian ones. It's just the sad reality of it all. I feel like Bolton is really settled there too, never heard any rumblings so far...but I guess you gotta dream and I certainly think Bolton is that x factor player we so desperately need at present.

I think it's a big reason why we're getting excitable over the Jackson trade. Because he projects as a top player down the track...it's not like they ask to come to Freo every day, is it?! We have to do what we have to do...luckily for us during the pains of the rebuild we came out on top of the draft, that's where we did some shrewd business and topped up well with very serviceable chaps like Aish and some fellow called Will Brodie.

I think it's obvious we've struggled to find a true replacement for Pav, a potential 60-goal a year KPF. They just don't grow on trees and even though we finally have Amiss, we probably needed an 'Amiss' 3 years ago to develop to the point now to be aligned with our window, our rebuild is a bit weird in one way because we're too lop-sided in other areas and our forward line is full of 'potentials and maybes' that might (or might not) come good and it feels like development-wise, we're too far behind in that final third of the field to have the greater impact we desire.

If in some crazy way Lobb stayed and Jackson came, it wouldn't be as dire; it's the fact Lobb wants out and has had such an impactful season that we're at this crossroads

Tabs kicked 37 goals last year
Lobb 36 this year.
Pies tallest player to kick goals Mihocek 192 cm.
We will find a way 😜
Honestly it’s the speed of play that’s the difference.

Would be telling Meek he's currently not tradeable.

Want to see if Swaggy's year was an anomaly, because of he keeps playing like he has I want him out and Meek partnering Jackson

I’d really like to see what the dynamic is like for us with Jackson , Meek and Erasmus in and Darcy , Lobb and Mundy out

Lose a bit of polish and marking gain some clearance and team speed

Josh Dunkley for Lobb, I'd go for that.

I wonder if Melbourne regret not trading Jackson last year for Cerra?

It still would have cost us Cerra + future 1st so as much as they may regret it, the deal looks like it has worked very much in our favor.

I'd rather keep Meek and Logue and gain second rounders for Acres and Lobb. Jackson I'm not too fussed about. I really hope Belly has an ace up his sleeve on a good key forward to replace Lobb somehow.

Happy to let Jackson go to Eagles. It will take up their 1st rounder when they desperately need young mids.

We keep Meek and, hopefully, Logue.

They need Jackson more than they need a young mid imo. He would fill such an oversized hole in their list. They still haven't even signed Bailey Williams
