Training 2022 Pre-season

I think he wanted my son to have a kick with him but my dopey kid didn't take the hint (I had both my boys there, the older one under sufferance as he has no interest in footy whatsoever. He was being a whiney teenage sh*t)

I love coaching other people's teenagers, especially the latter teenage years. It's awesome to watch them when things click and they see the world beyond them.

Very different when they are your own 🤣🤣🤣🤣

:D :clapping: :brisbane:DAYNE Zorko has seen just about everything at Brisbane, but never a group of teammates as fit as his current lot.

https://www.afl.com.au/news/692781/zorko-buzzing-as-lions-head-into-2022-primed-to-deliver

Zorko was buzzing about the enthusiasm of draftees Darcy Wilmot and Kai Lohmann, the professionalism and skill of future father-son prospects Will Ashcroft and Jaspa Fletcher, and the general conditioning of the Lions' list.

"The fitness levels of the majority of the group have come back at is something I haven't seen before.

"I talk about blokes taking control of their own careers and a large portion of our playing group have certainly done that in the break."

Hate to be this person - but every team has had the covid stay at home pre season.

I don't think we will have leap frogged other teams, but I do think we might get to see the highest standard regular season to date.

Hopefully what we have gained in the off season is bringing our players back to their individual bests. We have game winners in every line, x- factors players all over the field and role players who are happy to help the stars shine. And that's what makes a championship team. .

Geez.

People need to calm down for their own mental health.

We've got many good players and will field a competitive side.

As will a few other teams.

What we could do with is no star players going down with injury like last year.

The other issue overhanging everyone is how the competition reacts to covid cases if the country genuinely opens up.

We've just seen the Aus cricket captain stood down from a Test match because he was in the same restaurant as a positive case. Likely we'll see many more instances of this. The potential complications are endless. What if half your team was there ?

By the time the season starts we should have a population which is 90% + fully vaccinated, surely it is then time to carry on business as usual and live with it, like we have been for a long time re the Flu which claims around 1,000 lives each year in Australia.

Since Youi is listed alongside XL express and the shots of the replica guernseys don't as yet feature Neds visibly, I'll keep hoping.
Section 5 good news! The supporters email that went around this morning confirms Neds is gone from the guernseys, Youi are replacing them across the board.

After watching the interview with Kai n Darcy, we're going to get some individual thinking and honesty out of Darcy aren't we. I hope the media training they will get won't curb that too much. I love to see the footballers saying what they think, not trotting out the well worn cliche's. Kai, much the same. Looked like he wanted to bust out n say more a cpl of times.

Not a good career move to come out and just say what is on his mind now or any time while he's a listed player for our club.

The old adage 'squads win premierships' will used quite heavily this year I expect. .

Gold Coast team not the only one affected
Looks like someone at AFL headquarters thinks it is April 1st
I cant copy the page so this link has Luke Dunstan in Melbourne gear. More than likely some others but can't be bothered to look
At least Darcy Fort for us is correct

I do believe Luke Dunstan ended up at Melbourne.
So right colours, wrong club.

He has been a standout in the running as per usual, Harry Sharp obviously the front runner with JB and Clugga just behind him. Also a great sign is that in the sessions I have been to Jarrod has not been on any sort of modified training routine, taking part in full so must have zero lingering injury issues.... massive year incoming for Jarrod DR.:D:brisbane::fire:
