Training 2022 Pre-season

Mitch Robinson has Covid. Hope he hasn’t spread it to the other boys so close to the start of the season.

Danny Daly said today that they gave them 4 days off after the melbourne trip and only were back at training today. May slightly assist in avoiding a wider outbreak but who knows.

Hopefully he wasn’t at training today before he found out.

I think he's a bit too invested into the Lions at this point.

I'm not sure if he's ever really forgiven the Suns for passing on him several times over.
I dont see Zorko or anyone who is getting a game in the Best 22 to leave the club over the next couple of years at least. Can you imagine leaving a club with who you have played with all your career to play with a bottom 4 club and then seeing your old team win a premiership? For the majority of players, winning a flag is significantly more important that any $ they could potentially earn.
Andy Maher (like plenty of "professionals" in the media) is just making himself relevant....typical garbage they spew everytime they need a story.

Yeah I think players do a RAT test before training so hopefully was picked up prior to.
They basically do one every morning before they leave home I think. So good chance to lock it down before it spreads far. And well yes a large proportion have already had it and probably dont have a lot to fear at the moment

My partner has had it twice, double jabbed in between. Read about a British nurse who's had it 4 times!

"Reinfection with the virus that causes COVID-19 means a person was infected, recovered, and then later became infected again. After recovering from COVID-19, most individuals will have some protection from repeat infections. However, reinfections do occur after COVID-19. We are still learning more about these reinfections."

I'm currently on my second bout (I think - never tested positive the first time, but my partner had it and I had a cough but couldn't access a test in January). Nicely timed so that I can still make it up to brisbane for Rd 1 at least.

I know its not the Lions but brilliant Ben King has signed to stay with the Suns, great for Qld footy and the Suns

I can tell you RAT tests are somewhat inaccurate.

I’ve done multiple RAT tests over the last 3 weeks, and tested negative, but did a PCR test on Monday and came back with CT value of 24.

It was quite clear I was sick, but early RAT tests showed negative, then positive for 1 week, and then negative again on 4 tests during week 2. First day of week 3, PCR test shows I am still testing positive.

You can get Covid multiple ties cant you?
As others have noted yes you can but shouldnt happen soon after.

Generally you have a 1-3 month gap where you are really really covered but it depends on the individual and how many antibodies you produce (and how exposed you are and a bunch of other factors that are over my head).

There is a bit of difference between different RATs, different brands and methods seem to be more or less accurate. But really none are as accurate as a PCR. And PCR will likely continue to having some viral load for a bit after but you arent really likely to pass it on.

Also from what I understand RATs are also generally much more accurate while you are symptomatic. So again for the lions who RAT regularly, they hopefully catch it as the spreading risk gets high. Fingers crossed the protocols stop it going through the club.

And my other minor gripe that I hear all the time from the medical side of my family is the RAS syndrome in RAT test. ;)

Fingers crossed your feeling better

was a article on the ABC someone got it again 3 weeks later.
Some of the science we have is from Alpha and Delta. Reading today Omicron now replaced in NSW by Omicron Jnr..
Keeps mutating.. So what was true may not be now correct.

Wish Robbo all the best.. I say we lose players a few times this year.

Sad news about Kiddy hammy..

I can't quite tell if this means Hippy is tracking really well or Kiddy could be even worse than club saying?!
Have heard the club and Fages say a few times that Hippy is tracking towards the end of May.
Which would be about 8 weeks into the season.
So they could be on a fairly similar trajectory with return date?

Yeah right.

Taking that literally end of May would be round 11. Certainly hope Kiddy back before then!

Maybe Hippy is more like start of May though if things have gone well since the last update.

We’re good. I have a minor cough, but seeing as I live with minor acute bronchitis, I almost always have a minor cough.

There’s a thread for this stuff, and it’s not this one.
