I do but it's a shame lazy media analysis means so many don't. Means f all to those internally. But 8-2 with all these outs is miraculous

building an aura.

personally don’t care wether the media talk about it, the other clubs have noticed.

What a joke. Crippa gets the ball knocked out, is not tackled and Swans incorrectly get a free that results in a goal….gift.

On another occasion umpires miss the high arm tackle around Fisher’s neck (fikh) as the ball was being kicked to Papely resulted in another goal.

Longmire should be grateful it wasn’t a 27 point loss.
I've got no issue with the Cripps free. You mess around in the back pocket and that will be paid 9/10 times.

After sleeping on it, I think we played last night perfectly.

Off an interstate gsme with only a 5 day break there would've been sore bodies for sure.

I think we managed the game perfectly. Break even while settling in, go all out once we do and get ahead, then when the pinch of a short recovery comes do all we can to hold on, which we did.

Cripps needs to stop playing ruck. It worked for a week but I think last night showed it really upsets his game and it upsets our whole clearance set up imo. No more.

Young was pretty average. Beaten by a 16th gamer. Not ideal but lucky he missed a few shots in the 2nd half.

Cottrell has come on so well. Brave and a good mark for his size.

Speaking of brave, can we PLEASE stop passing hospital balls to Kennedy? Got set up twice last week and he had 3 or 4 in the first half alone this week. We get it, he's tough. Please stop getting him clattered because of cute passes.

I want to be critical of our 2nd half play - no run and all down the line kick and hopes - but I think we were gassed so I really don't think it's an issue but rather managing the game.

Something I noticed a lot, and I don't know if it was great execution by Sydney or just bad luck or bad awareness by us, but so often our boys were caught wrong footed. I think Stockers first 2 or 3 kicks were all scrappy left footers. Even Cripps goal was a leftie. Hewett also several times. It definitely hurt us through the evening. Mostly handball receives too, running onto the wrong foot.

I know i shouldn't be disappointed but the commentary was just so bad.

We essentially played the best quarter of footy by anyone in years and they couldn't have been more subdued and disinterested.

They kept death riding us hoping for us to be pipped. Was almost zero interest in our victory.

Gaz, Nick and Moons were much better and then the three on after that were good too.
I was at the game, but is that the difference between Fox and 7?

BTW, what was it with Longmire saying in his presser that the Swans were "beaten in the free kicks"? Genuine question: was he saying something about how undisciplined Swans were at times, or was he having a bit of a whinge?
Undisciplined to me. Was basically saying his side can't give away 20 free kicks in a half and expect to be in the game.

Jack Silvagni. I’m such a fan, just keeps soldiering.

was it Durdin who put the knee into a Swan defender?

love a small forward who really cracks into a big and brings the ball to ground

We started using our petrol tickets when we started to turn the ball over through going down the line with long kicks - Sydney had a really good defensive zone that covered the switch and everything short

We then had to chase tail and we were blowing up - our defensive zone wasn’t anywhere near as good

We need to get some run and carry from the back half - Plow tried it once - prefer if it was Saad or Stocker

Quite a few times the kick was to a 1:1 but it was on our guys head, we are shorter in the forward line and it needs to be out in front - statistically I would think it’s more chance for it be won by us or a throw in/ball up
Yep was Durdin on one of the McCartins lol buried him

It was only Youngs 20th odd game. Not exactly a 100 gamer being towelled by a kid.

Man those Kennedy marks in the 2nd quarter were f'ing huge. They're goals or at least shots at the other end if he doesn't take them.

Both take the same commentary (7) on a Friday night. At the quarter ,half time and three quarter time breaks Fox have their own analysis of the game which is in general more football orientated (they also don't have ads after goals and less during the breaks,)

Yeah I know, but the Fox commentary (pre, post, and breaks) is way better, and the Fox exclusive games are better too. I was asking is the disparity was due to 7 calling the game.

No mention of our 5 day break just emphasis on fade outs
No mention of a full strength Swans v injury hit blues
Emphasis on Signets (young swans). Carlton were younger with 8 players 23 or under.
Barely mentioned the 2nd qtr was highest against Swans in 18 years

Highlights for me were:
  • Charlie’s goals
  • TDKs contested marks in the last quarter.
  • Kennedys resilience after getting hit about 3 times while marking.
  • Fishers goal in the last quarter
  • Team’s reaction after that deadshit Josh Kennedy knocked Doc out. Never seen Saad that fired up and Young.

I really like Dane Rampe, one of my favourite players in the league outside Carlton. Congrats on 200 but jeez I’m glad we spoilt his milestone!
