Saw a quiet a few young'uns in the seats around us at the game. One particular lad was quite vocal.

Made me think it's a good time to be growing up a Carlton supporter. Hopefully will seeing a bit of success over the next decade without the (mostly) soul crushing mysery of the last two decades.

Totally.
My fellow who is 11 had pictures of Dusty on his wall only 3 seasons ago and was asking if I'd be upset ifhe went for someone else, no one specific! It was close. Now he is just beside himself. Matt Kennedy has replaced Dusty on the bedroom wall and he is on board big time. It's really nice to see.

I’m sure it’ll be no surprise to anyone but heaps of love to Cripps as well. He gave my brother who has down syndrome a signed footy, hug and head rub at the end of the game and it’s safe to say it left him stoked. Was awesome to see
I just keep seeing a team growing into a champion flag winning group.
You get glimpses of it, then frustrations and injuries cover it over.
But when those clouds part
It's right there.

Looking at Larkey tunnelling Young again, and Plowman was the first to react with aggressive intent. Kennedy was the next and Doc and Cripps flew the flag like the team leaders they are.

Not the first time for Plow either. He was one of the first to fly the flag for Weitering when Darcy Fogarty cheap shotted him.

Good man.

A few more shout outs.
Owies with 6 tackles in F50 (8 total).
Young with 8 spoils (loving what he's doing and don't think he deserved some of the early criticism some on here were dishing out).
Kennedy with 11 clearances and 10 ground ball gets.
Fisher with 472m gained from only 21 touches.
TDK leading the game with 11 hitouts to advantage (to Goldy's 9), despite only having 20 hitouts total (to Goldy's 36).
I think I gave Cerra a shout out for his 8 i50s and 7 score involvements last night, but Doc had the same. Doc isn't getting as many intercepts as he used to, but he's quietly putting together a great season. Funny to think that an ex-captain and AA player can kind of fly under the radar by just being his amazing self.

Carroll also did his work in only 68% time on ground (70% might have got him that extra disposal!!).

I know it's 'only North', but we've been waiting a while to return serve against these blokes and really needed a decent win for the soul (biggest win since 45ish point win over Dogs?)

Really positive and professional performance against a struggling team. Took care of business, banked the 4 points and knocked out percentage up 9%.

Saad and Doc were excellent across half back.
Young was a massive positive.
Midfield backed up again - Cripps, Walsh, Cerra and Kennedy all good.
H and Charlie were too much for North to handle.
Owies and Durdin much better pressure this week.

Take the 4 points and focus on backing up vs Adelaide next week.

Patrick Cripps. That’s the post

Not the first time for Plow either. He got suspended for flying the flag for Weitering once.

Good man.
It was interesting to see but live at the game Plow seemed to be the real general down there. He was directing where players needed to be and zoning off when needed etc. Was interesting for someone right on the fringes of the best 22 but good to see

Who is still having an afterglow with that convincing win last night?

What a beautiful day :D

Hard to gauge where we are at. We have won some games on individual efforts.

Even though against a struggling North, the great positive last night was in our 2nd half we powered away, had better structure, but more importantly, would give the players a great mental boost given our 2nd half fade outs.

We have won 5 games (lucky to win some)never playing well for more than 2 quarters, new coach, new game plan, not much structure at times, plenty of little disruptions due to injury & covid.

It will be interesting to see how we go in the 2nd half of the year. It wouldn’t surprise if we have the biggest upside.

Not ENOUGH :blueheart: for Plow!

If you thought the umpiring was bad (which I completely agree with) you should have heard the commentary, they were dead set barracking for north in the first half. I know I'm exaggerating but it felt like every 50/50 should have been a free-kick to them and every free-kick the blues got, they were "lucky to get that one".

It was only when we got completely on top in the 3rd that they switched to balanced commentary.
Absolutely agree! Felt like the b team umpiring and the commentators were barracking for North in the first half
