Am I the only one hoping Nic Martin dosen't play this week?
Why the **** wouldn’t you trade someone, anyone, to a 102k rookie averaging 84?

Its sometimes known as a ‘rookie correction trade’. Look it up!

Not seeing a lot posted on Thomson Dow or Lachie Gollant.

I understand we're still waiting on moo cows, but Gollant with that 79 in for two weeks is guaranteed to make 120k now. Playing the 3rd tall role, points per possession is nice. 123k forward.

Thommo Dow, a 49 in 68% TOG Rd 2 injured sub, miraculously returned a week later and scored 100 in 83% TOG. That 100 in his rolling average will be nice, does anyone foresee money to be made? Is FWD/MID eligible which is handy. Sort of was hoping he'd be 40k cheaper to make the decision easier.

With Gollant, there's JS risk with going early. He might not even play a 3rd game to get that price rise.

I think Gollant will get 2 more .....Thilhorpe to come back VERY soon ....I'm more concerned about Gollants scoring capacity .....4 goals for a 79

Weighing up Dow, a ton of factors to consider.

DPP is very handy, price is pretty ugly, JS fairly shaky if he has a down week or two. On the plus side, that was a really good game on the weekend and if he held that form he'd play most of the rest of the season. Probably more a spike game than an indication of likely future scoring, but who can know for certain with players that age.

We are trying to blood young inside-mids, but in the past only 1-2 at a time unless seniors are injured. RCD and Sonsie knocking on the door, Dow was clearly better than Ross last week, but Ross has always got games in front of him - though that may change this year.

Complicating all that, Prestia very likely to return this week (does he eat a lot of Dow's clearances from last week?), Lambert is close to playing (may even be this week but more likely next) and the club is adamant Martin will not retire, but return at some point. Anyone's guess when that is, could happen in a fortnight, or next season.

We have Dogs at the 'G, then Adelaide away, then Dees at the 'G which is a pretty tough batch of games for a rookie to be earning $ in (though FWIW, RCD scored 76 on debut against the Dogs last year with the same role Dow will have).

In summary/TLDR: expensive, risky and could go either way, but the payoff could be very good for uniqueness and scoring potential.

Thanks for taking the time to write that up. Good work

Latest news from Crimestoppers Vic.

An APB has been issued for one Finlay Macrae, last seen masquerading as a Rookie destined for big things in 2022. Anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts, please contact all those SC Coaches who were considering him for their Rd1 team, and to the 1400 SC Coaches who still have him on their team...

Any news of his whereabouts will be most welcomed, I'm sure...

May see a Hawks rook this week...
Ned Long or even Jai Serong
Ned had like 10 or 11 tackles in VFL, what a champ, that's what we like to see

I'll look at Long cold if I'm starring at a donut in the forward line (already lost 2/8 from suspension/covid)

Did a job on Will Hayes after HT and did well - send him straight to Jack Steele

Yes, if he can shut down Bulldogs legend Will Hayes then Jack Steele should be no problem.
