If we are looking at a key defender in the midseason draft, I'd consider Stefan Radovanovic. He is already plugged into our system via the VFL side, has speed, contests well and has strength. Just has to not bite off too much with his kicking.

Sounded like Akuei did okay in the VFL today. Those who watched might be able to confirm or deny this.

Don’t think Akuei will be fronting up at AFL level this season, would be some remarkable improvement (or we’ve had further injuries take a toll).

Akuei is a deer in headlights down back (though he did kick a goal in the last).

Kemp is going to get a run at it for the next month.

Kemp in for Weiters

Martin in for Motts

Kennedy in for Dow.

And that’s it. I mean if Marchy wasn’t made of paper he’d be a certainty, and we won’t see Harry until after the Richmond game.

Willo, Philp, Setters not likely to get a game unless we drop Cotts or Newnes for Setters.

(Carroll was medi-sub so doesn’t need to be dropped).

If Marchbank is fit, albeit not match fit, could he be the sub? Break glass in case of emergency.

Voss did mention him in his presser as possible Weiters replacement along with Kemp. They might take the view that if he’s going to be break, it might as well be in the seniors.

Or to put it another way, play Marchy in the 22 and have Kemp as the sub.

Not sure I would reward Motlop with another game after his efforts today, really needs to focus on sticking tackles. He looked to sneak off the contest and was a little weak.
There's no doubt he's a bit of a cheat, but I'm ok with that. The problem is he has no hurt factor afterward. Small, slow, short kick, nowhere near as evasive as he thinks he is.

In: Marchbank (train him hard and get him in, if he breaks, he breaks, and our season is dead), Kennedy (can play the HFF role that Carroll is trying to do, mixing in with midfield), Martin
Out: Weitering, Carroll, Motlop

I think Mirkov needs to be a serious consideration in the 2nd half of the year. Don't care if he isn't ready, we may need to roll the dice and have him rucking 50% game time and let TDK do the rest. We're killing Cripps' season as things stand, he needs to be having much more influence. Also allows us some proper structure in the interim.

If we include Mirkov, for example...

Plowman Young Newman
Docherty Marchbank Saad
LOB Cripps Walsh
Fisher TDK Silvagni
Durdin Curnow Martin

Mirkov Hewett Cerra

Dow Kennedy Cottrell Stocker

Out: Weiters
Motlop
Newnes
Carroll (subpar)

In: Kemp
Martin
Kennedy
Durdin, S

Cotterall back to Sub

Next man up, Vossy mentioned this in the presser, team have bought into it, it's on

We may have to put Mirkov in. We can’t play the kick mark game if we don’t have anyone who can catch it around the ground
