With pick 25 North Melbourne select Henry Hustwaite

In terms of needs North probably need a key forward but I felt like anyone with this selection would be a reach and Hustwaite is too good at this range to pass up.

Will likely play across half back or on a wing

194cm/84kg
20/7/04
Dandenong Stingrays/Vic Country
Midfielder
August ranking: 15

Hustwaite will be an interesting player for clubs given his skillset and size. A growth spurt saw Hustwaite shoot up in height and become a tall midfield option, and he averaged 23 disposals for the Stingrays this season. His kicking for a player his height is really good and Hustwaite can play in a number of positions as well, including a flank or wing.

Was hoping he would get to me.

With pick 26 Hawthorn select Darcy Jones.

Starred at the draft combine, blessed with a ton of pace and genuine footy smarts. Clean at ground level and is a natural run and carry player. While he is dimunitive in size, he is a giant at heart, and has been able to not just break into, but shine, in representative teams at all levels. Stands the same height as Shai Bolton and could be the closest thing to him in this draft.

175cm/63kg
3/4/05
Swan Districts/Western Australia
Midfielder/forward

Jones was a star of the NAB AFL Draft Combine, with the versatile small breaking a 14-year record in the agility test with a run of 7.70 seconds. He was also joint winner of the vertical jump test and placed equal fifth in the running vertical jump, as well as claiming a 20-metre sprint time of 2.912 seconds. It showed his capabilities and speed, which is an important part of Jones' game and came to the fore at different stages this year, with the West Australian influencing games in a number of spots.

Was very close to taking him wth WC's last pick. His height means someone will get a very talent player for cheap.

With pick 27 Collingwood select

Harry Barnett

202cm/97kg
West Adelaide/South Australia

Best ruck in the draft pool , good endurance wins the football around the ground .

Long term Brodie Grundy replacement.

BrutThough your up

Pick 28 - West Coast - Jacob Konstanty, Gippsland Power.
176cm, 70kg, Small Forward

With Cripps over 30 and Rioli moving to Port, West Coast go with Konstanty who many consider the best pressure forward in the draft. His high work rate and tackling should flourish at AFL level where forward pressure is highly valued. Needs to work on his finishing in front of goal but he makes things happen up forward which is something West Coast will love to add to their forward mix.

SaintJunior Collingwood's pick again.

It's Jacob :p

Too focused on spelling the last name correctly, I fudged the easy one. 🤦‍♂️

Hoping to hear that Gil announces that Jacob's unknown brother Jason, is now going to the west, leaving Jacob to be drafted by the Saints.

With pick 30 the St Kilda Football Club selects..................Max Gruzewski

It was a 50/50 call between Max and another who I won't reveal as I hope he slides to our next pick.

A highly skilled and athletic tall. Also has a nice contested mark and uses the ball well. With some quality development hopefully he can become an intercepting weapon down back like Sicily, Jeremy McGovern or Howe. Hoping he can growth 2-3cm more to around the 195cm mark.

Holy [PLAYERCARD]Hunter Clark[/PLAYERCARD] over to you

Also demonstrated care and compassion at the combine when he stopped his 2klm run to assist hayes when he seen hayes fall
kid has character and that builds culture and care which is integral in a team sport.

Pick 31.

Carlton selects Jaiden Magor.

Dynamic Forward/Mid that has some X-Factor to work with. Certainly, could push to play in the Carlton forward mix and brings excitement around the footy.

Savage Kent Over to you again mate.

Again, sorry for the late reply, have recently opened up a new cafe and has been absolutely bananas.

With pick 32 the Fremantle Football Club selects James Van Es.

Tall defender with a safe pair of hands as well as a reliable kick. Elevates his standing with his combine testing. Fremantle planning for a long term replacement for Alex Pearce. Van Es should be ready to go at AFL level by the time Pearce winds down his career.

Significant over to you.

Pick 33 - GWS - Charlie Clarke, Sandringham Dragons

St Kilda with the next pick are probably going to hate me for this, but the revolving door of small forwards at GWS continues with the drafting of Charlie Clarke, who is being spoken about in th early parts of the second round. Only elevated his standing with an incredible finals campaign in front of the big sticks. Will work in well with Olli both coming along from the NAB Premiership winning side.

Damn you haha. Clarke was the other choice I referred to when selecting the saints last pick. Good get for the giants.

With pick 34 the St Kilda Football Club selects Noah Long from the Bendigo Pioneers.

One Long out, another Long in. Small mid/forward with some nice qualities. Strong inside game, clean hands and a nice turn of speed. He can also impact the scoreboard inside 50. Can add him to the mid/forward rotation alongside Gresh and Higgins.

Welcome to St Kilda Noah Long.

Significant back to you.

Pick 37 - Melbourne - Nick Sadler, Sturt
180cm, 74kg, MID

Melbourne go with Sadler to bring some much needed speed into their midfield mix. While he is small in stature, Salder has the skills to make up for it. Would expect him to start his career at half forward.

Tommy Wigs you're up.

Pick 38: Western Bulldogs - Kaleb Smith (WA)

A bit like the Melbourne pick, looking for some run and dash for the Dogs.

“Smith won the 20m sprint and placed third in the agility test. One of this draft's most damaging rebounding defenders, Smith is a line breaker with speed and power who aggressively takes on the game with ball in hand and hurts opposition sides with his penetrating kick.”

With pick 39 North Melbourne select...

Thomas Scully
State: South Australia
State League Club: West Adelaide
Community Club: Lockleys
Date of Birth: 02/11/04; Height: 203cm; Weight: 89kg

A tall forward who had a wonderful start to the 2022 season, with his overhead marking and accuracy around goals earning him a call up to AFL Academy team that represented Australia. He showed glimpses of his sizable potential up forward as a marking target during that match against Collingwood’s VFL side in May. He booted 50 goals in 14 matches for West Adelaide in the SANFL under-18s, as well as playing one game for South Australia at the 2022 NAB AFL National Championships U18 Boys.
