l would get rid of Hall and Goater if you want to reduced North players...Replace Hall with Dawson (Ade) and Goater With E.Hollands (GC)
Nah Hall will seagull his way to top 2 defenders this year.
Since his surgery last off season he is a new man.
Goater is in if he is picked round 1. His price and the likelihood that he gets DPP round 6 makes him a lock.
All rookies are guesses at this stage anyways.
I have had teams with 7-8 north players I am more comfortable with this now.

Paging coach with the team Endeavour Storm

Who are you?

If I don't hear from you by tomorrow I'll remove the team from the league.
Same goes for Swine Central. Who are you?

I f’ed up and created a group instead of a league.

This is the correct league.

Use the code 202443 for a group for all players no matter which league.
Woo hoo, joined league and group.

Good Honest Triers.

First timer here. Does this look vaguely sensible?

You need more elite Captaincy options IMO.
Preuss wont stay on the park. He has never played 5 games in a row. I would be spending a little less at d5 and d6 and using the cash to get Darcy, Grundy or Nicnat.
I love the Phillips pick. I just dont have the balls to do it myself.

I was wondering of last years Victorian draftees who has the best tanks?
Only 2 Vic kids made their round 1 sides last year. Both had decent tanks.
Sharp and Lazarro.
Any idea who is good this year?
Not a ton of elite endurance runners from the Vic kids. Chesser and Knevitt were 2 that came to mind as being very good athletes generally with great tanks.

Knevitt at Cats isn't likely to get a game because he's not over the age of 40 and I think Chesser will need a couple of years in the system before he adjusts to the top level.

Here's a quick list of guys I'd monitor who I think are a chance due to their age and/or the position they play being a position of need for the club they're at.

Defenders
Charlie Dean
Karl Worner
Bodhi Uwland
Garrett McDonagh
Leek Aleer
Flynn Perez
Rory Thompson
Patrick Parnell
Will Kelly
Sam De Koning
Sam Skinner
Will Gould

Midfield
Greg Clark
Zac Taylor
Blake Howes
Corey Warner
Ely Smith
Angus Sheldrick
Ben Hobbs
Josh Ward
Nick Daicos
Charlie Lazzaro
JHF
Charlie Constable
Will Brodie
Jared Polec
Charlie Parker
Finlay Macrae

Ruck
Charlie Comben
Sam Hayes

Forward
Ned Long
Sam Butler
Judson Clarke
Luke Pedlar
Ashley Johnson
Francis Evans
Josh Rachele
Finn Maginness
Elijah Hollands

I've probably missed some guys but they're some names to keep an eye on over the preseason.

Endeavour Storm removed because I don't know who you are. You're welcome to rejoin but let us know in here who's team it is.

3 spots left in Div 1.

Fairly sensible in general, yeah. You have too many expensive rookies and it's costing you at least one premium forward. You'll want at least a couple of Dunkley/Duncan/Taranto in the forwards. Jackson and King are poor choices IMO - At his starting price Jackson needs to graduate to a keeper and I'm not sure where the jump in scoring is going to come from while Gawn is still going strong. King might kick the odd bag but won't score enough week after week to justify his spot. Day might graduate to a keeper, but Braeden Campbell and Bowey are in no-man's land price-wise, without enough upside as 2nd year players. WilPhil is a bit the same. At $260K he needs to average like 80 to make you the cash you need out of a rookie. And that 80 isn't good enough to retain a spot on your field. His highest score last year was 73. And I love him as a player, can't wait to see what he does this year.

I don't hate the Preuss pick.

Basically you want to make $150K-$200K out of a cash cow, even more if possible. It's easier to get that from a $123K player averaging 60 than a $200K player averaging 75, assuming job security is equal. And you get to use the extra $$$ elsewhere in your team in the meantime. Don't fill your team with $117K placeholders, because you won't have any wiggle room once the real playing rooks are announced - but those expensive rooks, midpricers and stepping stone players are dead weight. There's no hard and fast rule, but my rule of thumb is if you have more than one midpricer per line you should be sure they're there for a good reason.

I'll post my team later for comparison - attached images don't work on this computer.

Sorry, I meant to elaborate on this. "set and forget" is popular in the rucks. You only have 30 trades and juggling rucks around uses up trades you can be using elsewhere. For the same reason, a couple of R/F options for ruck cover and VC loopholing is always a good idea. However, there are always guys who look to have good job security at discount prices. If Preuss can make $150K before he inevitably gets injured that's pretty tasty. This time last year I took the plunge on Flynn and Meek as R2/R3, which worked out pretty good.

It was easy to miss but this year it's actually 35 trades and there is far more flexibility of trading - the rule changes are quite significant.

Go to Help in the top right menu and look at Team Editing and Trades

Cool, thanks. I'd heard we're getting new DPPs through the season like AFL Fantasy apparently does, but I wasn't up to date with the rest. They did a good job of keeping 2020 interesting with all the extra trades so I hoped something like this might come along. I assume the justification is to cope with late COVID outs without having to go best-18 or taking weird stuff like average scores.
