You either want Lobb or you don’t. Freo want 21 for him.
The issue appears to be the late second rounders back your way. We seem to want to keep them.
I think the deal will get done but only if you drop the 30 and 39 demand and or send someone we want our way (hint - defender).

Some respondents have suggested your light on KPD's, so perhaps sending your F2 as well as F1 and 21?

We are light on KPD's so we won't be sending any your way this time around. Perhaps call again next year.

Happy to send answorth your way don’t rate him at all . Payne on other hand can see him being a future rock for us down back . Has size and speed atributes we need . With adams and dizzy always missing games need to keep him . Other then our 1st rounder to give to dogs what other future picks are there at our disposal? Bearing in mind we have to keep our 2nd ? Also 2024 draft beef real chance Levi Ashcroft nominates us and is currently projected to be another high pick so missing a draft and going into points deficit not a big deal . Looks also highly likely north and gws will take Cadman with pick 1 atm .

I'd rather keep Answerth.

I think a player with a fair bit of value would be Jack Payne but he's off the table as well I'd imagine.
i like answerth and have probably been one of his more vocal defenders here

but in the finals series i think there was enough vision to raise sincere doubts as to whether he is b22 next year. was being thrown around all over the field outside of his usual dedicated defensive post to accomodate wilmot and wasnt particularly effective in any of the places he bobbed up in. wilmot has a higher ceiling and would be seriously pushing for answerths spot in the side from this point on

answerth is good defensively and did some great jobs on opposition smalls over the course of the year, very brave and cant fault his effort. but his skills especially by foot are questionable, this limits his capacity to really play on a wing or any other position in the team and can lead to some hair pulling moments with turnovers at times. i dont know if what he brings defensively cover his deficiencies given who we have also pushing for his spot. i see him as replaceable as a small defender by a few on the list, and i think if needed ah chee could also be moulded into that role.

on the other hand hed just about instantly be footscrays best dedicated small defender if he went to them and is probably an asset the club would be willing to part with if it got this deal over the line without any extra hassle. i think payne is worth substantially more to us as unfortunately adams is probably 1 concussion away from it being for the best that he call time on his career.

If it got Dunkley over the line I'd reluctantly be ok with losing Answerth, I can not see that happening unless Noah asked for it, he is not OOC till 2024.

Really tough to take these bulldogs supporters seriously when they think their club will do things just to spite us

With Bevo in charge they might though. Man is an absolute loose cannon, I think dogs fans in 20 years might be regretting the 2016 flag because it made Bevo untouchable, the damage he’ll do to the club long term is yet to be fully seen

Nah. 21 is less points than 30 and 39. They almost cancel each other out and a future first isn't enough for Dunkley

I doubt we want 30/39 coming back our way anymore. I think we initially asked for them as some return for points, they said no so we split 15 and got the points anyway.

21 and F1 I imagine will get it done for just Dunkley, or maybe +39 if they blink first

Dunkley averages less hit outs than every other ruck in the competition. Why do dogs fans think he’s worth more than a token fourth round pick?

Imagine coming in here to argue trade negotiations and not even knowing that you can’t trade your F1 and F2.

The finest minds Footscray have to offer apparently

Those are completely valid criticisms. I think Answerth has been somewhat of a scapegoat on here, which I think is unfair given he was coming off a year-long injury lay-off just like Rayner. In my mind, they should both be viewed in the same way.

I rate Answerth as a defensive prospect and I think us playing him in different positions shows his versatility, even if his impact was limited. I agree that he's replaceable by others on our list so losing him wouldn't be the worst-case scenario for our team, however, I value his defensive endeavour and when he plays you know he's going to scrag and keep fighting no matter what. I think that type of desperation is lacking in our back half of the ground.

I completely agree with your last point as well - he'd easily be their best small defender, however, I was under the assumption that the dogs were looking for taller key position defenders which was why dogs fans were floating Harris as a possible solution. I think Payne is too valuable to us to be offered as trade bait as well, and whilst he had some real brain explosions in those finals, he was fairly solid in just playing his role.

Maybe I've just got a soft spot for him, but if him leaving helped us get Dunkley then so be it, as much as I'd hate to see it happen.
